I think that I have traced my clunk and movement in my steering wheel back to the steering shaft. Its the OEM one from when the truck was built so I guess I feel pretty lucky/fortunate that it lasted 100K, LOL

I know about Borgenson, what are the other options out there for a replacement. About 99% of the stuff I have heard about Borgenson sounds great but that other 1% scares the ^*(&%* out of me, LOL.

Just looking at my truck (4x4 with 4wheel antilock) it looks like R/R of the steering shaft is a PIA?? Any tricks?

Thanks

I have used Flaming River steering shafts a couple of times, with good results. You cut them to length to fit the truck. I cannot help out on the ABS being a PIA, since the truck I did the R&R on has rear ABS only.

I have used both the Borgeson end joints with both the borgeson and flaming river sliding shafts. The borgeson slider works a little harder but has a feature to keep play to a minimum. I vote for Borgeson.

Don't be surprised if you still have the clunk. There is a really good chance it is the bushing in the base of the steering column assembly. Do a search if you don't know what I referring to.
