2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission tick at low rpm

i just started to get a tick at 1000 rpms when you go higher it stops do have a bad oil switch can this make a clicking sound? runs fine 98 dodge 12 valve if you can help thank you aweis

If it's louder on the driver's side, it's probably the lift pump getting weak.

tighten the spring up or get a new return valve .

+1 on the lift pump. You can't hear the return valve with the engine running.

What they said... Mine started ticking quite a while ago and I also have replaced the return valve.

Ive had an intermittent tick sound coming from what sounded like the drivers side for quite a while. But last week the serpentine belt started to really chirp. When I replaced the belt, the tick went away as well.

sounds more like the lift pump,,mine has been ticking like that for about 6 years now,,,no big deal it seems,,
