New pickup box???????

'01 Ford trans ?

Hi, my name's Gary, and I'm a smoker. I've been clean since I got rid of the bombed truck in 2002.

While I can say I've never smoked a cyclist, I do love smoked mullet.

Had to smoke a Jeep once, but he seriously asked for it first.

Mainly I have a weakness for smoked rice balls and black clouded boom boxes.

I used to have a bass boat -which, I have to admit- did emit some 2-cycle smoke.

I think if I stay away from the "Accessories" forum I'll be Ok. For one more day.

:D

People who are respectful of other drivers (cyclists included) do not deserve to be smoked. It does nothing but bring a bad image to diesel performance. On the other hand, I have been stuck behind inconsiderate cyclists that have deserved to be smoked. Cyclists, If you are on the road, obey the laws like everyone else. Riding a bike does not make you any more important than anyone else. Use common sense on where you ride. And for those of you that carry a gun while riding, are you really going to shoot someone. If thats the case than you have no business carrying a weapon. JMO

Before I joined up with TDR, I "assumed" (yeah, I know!) that smoke was part of being a diesel. I didn't know about overfueling and the 3-to-5 shift and slow turbo spool and all the other stuff that goes into great smoke. I am willing to bet that 99% of the road using population, whether they are cyclists, walkers, or other drivers, wouldn't know they've been "smoked" for a reason. They just chalk it up to stinky, dirty diesels. It's kinda like being cursed at in another language. You know something just happened, but you're not sure what. While we can sit back and tell great smoke stories, everyone else is just telling idiot truck driver stories. I can't smoke much (yet :-laf ), and I can see the fun in dusting someone who really deserves it, but if they don't know why, did I really accomplish anything positive? That being said, I'm not finished BOMBing yet...

So if I have to go over the double yellow line into oncoming traffic to get around a bicyclist taking a chance nobody is coming the other way, I accellerate quickly to get back in my lane as quickly as possible, smoke the biker in the process and he pulls a gun on me????? Do know if you pull a gun, shoot at my truck, my family or myself, I will stop and back over you.

Threatening anyone with a gun is unlawful.

Having to carry a gun along while persuing your hobby (unless guns are your hobby :D ) seems like time to reevaluate your hobby.

Share the road means just that. It does not mean bikes get the right half of the lane and I get to cross the yellow line and take chances.

I wouldn't worry about that. Shooting a pistol isn't easy for most. Well, not the shooting part but the "hitting" part. Unless you're Roy Rogers, John Wayne, or Batman, the odds of hitting a moving target... while sitting on a moving platform, are slim at best. Call me crazy... . but it would take more than a handgun for me to consider someone in leotards on a bicycle "scary":-laf :-laf

So much for tolerance and sharing the road. Now we are down to threatening with intentions to kill.

If there is no shoulder on a two lane road, and there is not enough room to pass a cyclist w/o crossing the double yellow line, then wait till you can pass safely, just like would if you were held up by a slower vehicle. Like it or not, cyclists have a legal right to use the roads, unless marked otherwise. Learn to control your anger.

Smoking

I burn B-99 now and if you use that, it will encourage the smokee to get off the road at the nearest burger joint because of the french fry smell. Another more subtle way to clear the roads of rude people.

I live on a very narrow winding road in the Ozark hills that has no shoulders and has huge drop-offs in most areas. It is very aggravating to be stuck behind Armstrong wannabes in spandex tooling along at walking speed uphill. I don't smoke them intentionally but when they will not stop and get over and I get tired of driving 15 mph following them I try to pass at the best spots. When the horsetrailer full of horses is in tow it's very hard not to smoke when pulling out at 15mph to go around such morons. I do try to keep it to an absolute minimum unless said jack***** flips me the bird or some other rude gesture. There are plenty of places for them to ride besides my area which is full cattle and horsetrailers. As far shooting off moving objects, give cowboy mounted shooting a try. It's a hoot. The neighboring rancher's son is the President of the local Cowboy Mounted Shooting Assoc. and shoots off of a mule

I ride my mountain bike quite often..... I have enough sense to stay off of roads... . I also have enough sense to move over when traffic is coming. Why would you want to hold up traffic on purpose? Why would you want to tick people off at your sport?

Why would you think a Taurus PT145 is going to do anyithing to a 7500 lb truck that would keep the driver from running you over with good cause?(self defense)

Why would you make empty threats of violence on total strangers in a public forum? Lots of questions.

I am a biker, hunter, and shooter. Target and tactical. I don't fish, but I don't plan on smoking the guy towing a boat or a trailer because he is not driving like a bat out of hell endangering myself or my family, why would you want to endanger yourself by riding a bike where the big boys with 4 tires are?

Bikers don't follow the same rules that automobiles do... .

where are your blinker and brake lights? Why don't you stop at signs and lights?

I guarentee the police will give me a ticket for driving like a dumbass on the sidewalk in my truck like half you guys do on your bikes. Sidewalks are for people on foot and babies in strollers, not pricks on the bikes in a "hurry"

People need to think about what they say and say what they do. I would like to see the guy who pulls a pocket pistol on a guy in a 3+ ton truck.

Think about it. We all have a common interest here.

Todd T, you are the reason I carry a PT145 with me on the bike.

By the way, how's that bassboat?

Talk about stereotypical behaviors. Idiot with a gun thinks he can take over the road. I’d love to have you try that. It would make my century to curtail your bike riding with a short stint in the pokey for CCW. If I only knew where you would be at a given time with that weapon I’d call it in and have them waiting for ya!

Have you even read SC’s title 56? More specifically 56-5-1810 or 56-5-1840 56-5-1560. you see as a bicyclist with all the same rights, impeding normal and reasonable traffic is applicable.

you seem to have the “granted all of the rights” committed to memory but forgot the rest of that sentence “and subject to all the duties applicable” or could you not comprehend that large of a sentence at one time?

I didn’t say I smoke them out, but I can guarantee you I will RETURN whatever courtesy or lack there of, I’m given. You want to ride around thinking big and imagining you can block traffic for miles without consequences, go ahead. Some day that same disregard will be returned.

Bass boat, what mental midget!

I carry a gun anywhere I want to. The state gives me that right. If I shoot somebody--it's because I was defending myself or others. There is no need to conceal a weapon here. The law is for open or concealed carry.

Boy Scout motto: Always be prepared. ;)

We just want 3-4 feet of road. When we get 12-18 inches, we get miffed a little teeny tiny bit. When some idiot's dog runs out and causes a crash (my good friend's pelvis was broken that way this year) we don't know what we're going to have to deal with.

I don't like the road, it's boring and there are too many folks doing jiffy pop and cell phones and trying to make up for being a lazy turd on it. :-laf

And don't worry, if I shoot someone--there will be plenty of evidence for me to walk free. I promise.

Cyclist pay with their lives. Motorist lose a mirror and maybe a headlight. :(

I have to confess that I too have 'smoked' cyclists on two occasions.

Both times, they were impeding the flow of traffic by traveling at about 1/2 the posted speed limit, causing the vehicles to have to wait for a clear spot in the oncoming traffic to make a safe pass because they were not riding in the designated bike lane.

Then at the traffic light, the cyclist would catch up to the traffic that finally managed to pass them, pass all the vehicles waiting for the light on the right, run the red light, and procede to start the same 'parade' all over again on the way to the next light.

Share the road also means obey the same traffic laws.

Why is it the cool bikers wear those gay looking tights, anyway?

This whole flippin thread is hilarious Oo. Oo. . I think you should only be allowed to ride a bike on the road after 180 hours of bicycle class has been taken and passed, kinda like having a BDL licence. The state that you live in will administer the licencing and the federal government will oversee that the state does it right. This licence should cost no less than $400 per year, comparable to a vehicle which is why the paved road was originally made. A law should be passed that you are able to demonstrate that your bike can outrun or keep up with a stock CTD equipped truck. And finally all bikes used for highway use will meet all the dot approved lighting, safety and regulations that apply to a car or truck for highway use. As far as using motorcycle as a comparison, don't go there. Most motorcycles can outrun a stock CTD. :-laf :-laf

The state gives me that right.

Actually, the 2nd amendment gives you that right. Your state or city just hasn't taken it away yet. Witness San Fransicko at the last elections.
