I apologize for my harsh words.
I would not cross the center line. That's not what I said. Sometimes, I come around a curve and there in the lane that I'm driving in, which I ignorantly refer to as the "vehicle lane", is a cyclist or two and I have no choice but to hold my line, and hope he does too. If I slam on the brakes, and get rear ended, I guess that would be my problem and cyclist pedals on. If I swerve into the opposing lane, and get into a head on collision, my problem and cyclist pedals on.
Sometimes we get stuck behind a "slower moving human powered vehicle" for a long time and we're at the mercy of the "driver" ahead. I don't dare honk at His Highness on the bike, so I just follow hoping He or They will show mercy.
I'm talking about two lane, curvy, steep, mountain roads, where there are no passing zones for miles sometimes. I'm sure you can imagine how frustrating it is to have to follow at a slow pace for that long. When is it ok for me to grow impatient and when is it time for the cyclist to show some respect? Never?
I'm trying to be sensitive ,but some of you cyclists act as if motor vehicles have no business being on your roads. The consideration factor goes both ways. That's all I'm trying to say. I understand your position. Can you see mine?
Anyway, again, I apologize for my harsh words. I should have said
"inconsiderate person" instead of idiot, and "dare devil" instead of moron (humor meant here). Seriously, don't you worry about some drunk or lead footer coming around a corner, and hitting you when you're in the road like that?
I fear this post will be misunderstood, but I hope not.
