Start truck engage tow haul and exhaust brake every time. Your turbo and trans will then you.
Seeing that you are in BC, this is true except on icy roads unless you have really good winter tires and a good winter weight in the box or you may find you back end in front of you!!
I use the Tow haul mode when towing all the time. I like the way it makes the engine break work better. I've tried to use it when not towing and have found it hurts the fuel MPg's not much but enough to notice. I wish RAM would change the shift points and engine break response to be some where between normal and tow/haul modes. The down shifting and slightly more aggressive engine breaking would be a huge plus. Also why can't they set the programing to stay in the the mode you had the truck in when you parked it? My Honda keeps the Cruise control on if I leave it on I don't have to turn it on each time I re-start the engine.
Not sure, but the think in my test tow that the exhaust brake stayed on when the trailer was plugged in?? I least I turned it off and restarted after paying for the cat scale, and the exhaust brake was already active. Needs more verification however.
I wonder if you turn it on and then do the keyfob memory set if it will remember those other things? SNOKING
Nope......With a trailer plugged in, it will remember the exh brake setting but not the Tow/haul setting............

1st thing I do after starting is engage tow/haul and EB. If I could get it to default to those setting I would be happy.
