Has anyone tried adapting the new style flip out tow mirrors to an older truck('97)? A friend of mine (also a TDR member/no computer though!) would like to try it. He has a 11. 5' slide in and tows a race car in an enclosed trailer. Makes it kind of hard to see!!
Any ideas or experience would help.

I'm sure it's a simple bolt on swap. Andy Perreault has a 97 Ram and he bolted on the regular 98-2001 mirrors. We know the flip out mirrors have the same bolt pattern as the regular mirrors,so I'd say yeah.

It does work, done it on my Y2K. Since all doors from 94 till 2000 are the same. 2001 doors are a bit different to support the flip mirrors. All thats needed is a simple template to supports the doors. Remove the door panel, remove the old mirrors. Make a template for support, reinstall the door panel and enjoy the view.
