Battery/charging question:

Weighed My Setup Today

Get yourself some happy campers powder for the holding tanks. I have used quite a few over the years and that has been the best yet.

It is on the way. Actually, I ordered it weeks ago, and Amazon sent a note saying it was not available or something, then they sent a note saying it was cancelled. Not by me, it wasn't. So we re-ordered, and it appears to be on the way this time.

Awesome!!! I’ve thought about having something like that built as well since regular RV’s are such junk, especially if you pull them down lots of gravel, dirt and mud roads.
10X’s more solid and can take some rough handling without falling apart.
Congrats!!

Looks great, especially the night shot, the rig looks good together! The LT 265's should hold up well, that's a big size. I like the monster jacks v/s the light duty RV jacks. In the event of a truck flat tire, they can probably lift truck, trailer and all.

I'm drooling a little, that thing is incredible!!! What a quality trailer!!!!

I bet you could hammer that on a dirt road for a thousand miles and there wouldn't be so much as a loose screw.........

Loose screws, eh? How about the nut behind the wheel?

Thanks, they come standard with DOT required marker lights, so I added a bunch more when I spec'd it out. I told the guy I wanted it to look like a Mexican cattle hauler at night. He couldn't stop laughing.

Gonna bring this to the top. I just got one...well just before Thanksgiving that is. 2286gm 42ft. Just curious how you are liking it, how much you have used it etc.

I was also wondering if you could shoot me some pics of the generator install. Mine is gen ready and I have a 5500 to put in. Mine does not have a lift, I am currently looking at what needs to be done. I know I will have some gap at the top of the wheel wells but oh well. Hopefully I do t need but looking like 3" extra would be nice, we will see. I have only used it once before Christmas at a local KOA.

I have been through 2 RV brand toyhaulers. Bent frames on both and totalled out. I was done with the RV industries junk and went down the same road as you it seems.

I am sitting in it at the Imperial Sand Dunes at Glamis. This is only my second trip here. I am well pleased. I did find some sloppy workmanship, but detail stuff for the most part. Mine is an SGM, and while I am glad to have the extra room, due to a lack of communication on both sides, adding the slide forces them to relocate the fresh tank, and I ended up with a 30 gallon tank, when I was expecting a 50. Most of my use is boondocking so that is a problem I am working on. The sound system is not the greatest, especially using bluetooth the volume drops way off even with the phone cranked. I installed two longer sewer hose holders in place of the chintzy one supplied that my Rhino hose would not fit into.

Here is a photo of the electrical entrance and transfer switch. I'll get the genny in the daylight tomorrow.

Wow, I'm so impressed. I'm going to start looking. If I could get one that my jeep wrangler would fit in, I'd start getting serious about getting one. I already have the hoss, my 5500.

Nice write up, I'll be following this thread.

cheers, Ron

If it will fit between 82" fender width they will build one to fit your Jeep, no problem. Go three axle and give them dimensions. You can even get the premier door that opens out like a concession door so you can step right out of the vehicle without struggling. I can give you contact info to arrange a factory visit.

On Edit: Mine has a 19' garage. If I had opted for the generator pod on the roof, it would fit a Wrangler.

Thanks. The transfer switch is already installed. All I need is to cut holes in genbox floor for air and wire it.

Fresh water- one reason I stayed with the 2286GM. It has a 70gal fresh tank. Gives me 2 showers ea for my family of 3 with a little left for what ever else. Probably 30 gallons were left. Shouldnt be difficult to plumb another tank in somewhere else.
