I think that I need a front end alignement as I'm getting uneven tire wear on the fronts. Truck has 35K and is strating to wander a bit more than usually, so I figure I mine as well do a track bar at the same time. I want to go with an aftermarket, instead of Dodge track bar.

What are some of the brands that every one is using and happy with. Let me know, including ease of install/repair and improvement in ride etc. Also if u have links to manufactures it would be appreciated too.

I tried a search and I dont know if I was searching the wrong key words or what, but I was getting just about everything but what I was looking for! LOL.

Thanks in advance

From all I have read and heard - DT Trackbar is the ONLY way to go. Not cheap but the best! http://www.dtprofab.com/dodge.htm

I'm sure others with the DT will chime in.

I have Darins Steering Stabilizer, DSS, love it and recommend it.

Would love to know if anyone has both and added them one at a time to evauate each separately? Are both needed?

With DSS you don't need to worry about re-alighment after installing. Not sure when changing trackbars... . Anyone?

The most popular track bars are the DT Pro Fab and the Moog OEM replacement. The DT track bar is, in my opinion, of better quality and is adjustable - which is only really needed if you lift your truck. In addition, it is rebuildable (the kit costs around $40). You can find them at www.dtprofab.com.

The Moog OEM replacement you can find through most local auto parts stores. It has a lifetime warranty - which you will need if you keep your truck long enough.

If you do a search, I think you will find that most people prefer the DT unit... I finally ordered mine yesterday!

I agree on the DT trac bar... however... they recently RAISED their prices... $30 more than before. Almost a 10% increase. Ouch!!

Guess we on the TDR have been talkin' them up so much that the demand must justify the price.

Wonder what the demand will be now that http://www.solidsteel.ca/news.htm almost has their replacement bar ready (albeit non-adjustable from what we can tell).

????????????

A little competition is a GOOD thing!!

The DTB (Darrin's Track Bar) does not include a 2003 trackbar for the 94 thru 2002 CTD. Says we supply our own - see "News" section at web page. Anyone know what they cost?

Repeat from above: Anyone have both the DSS and the DT Trackbar?

Thanks guys.

Is the DT pretty easy to install? I have never done a track bar?

Also Rowj I e-mailed the DSS people and asked if the DT will work with their DSS stablizer. I'll post the reply when I get it.

The DT will work with the DSS they are located far from each other. The DT trac bar is the way to go and is a simple install. The DSS is also very easy to install, and can be done in about 15min. Good luck with both. You should feel a big differecne. Any more help just PM me.

By the way JC did you install your turnbuckle?????Later Dwayne

I am running the DT and the DSS stabilizer and they work great! I actually welded the DT bracket on cuz the damn thing moved way too much for my comfort level. Sucker don't budge now and is very stout. The stabilizer works great too, preventing that sector shaft from ever going out again. I'll have to find some pics and post them.

Hi guys - a little info for you:

Darin and I are planning on three brackets at the moment. One stock drop non-adjustable, one stock drop with adjustment for small lifts, and one with adjustment for the 3" drop (5"lift) pitman arm. I may also do a 4 1/2 drop ( for SJ 7" lift extreme drop pitman arm ) but it might be difficult due to the bracing required. We'll see...

The stock drop with adjustment will also be interesting because the track bar end is pretty close to things, but I'm sure I can squeeze it in somehow.

The non adjustable is very close to being ready to go out the door.

I would tend to believe that the price of the trackbar itself from Dodge is going to be around the 200 USD area. It coincides with what we paid for some up here.
