I haven't been able to post for a wile. I replaced the track bar last Thursday, wile installing we had too rock the steering wheel back and forth drastically to get the frame end joint in the hole. ( do not remember doing this the last three times replacing the track bar. ) Then went for a test drive. The very first thing I noticed was the steering wheel was off by a half turn!#@$%! First thing I thought was. WHAT THE HAY! This is not right! It's never done this when I've changed it before!:{ Called the local Dodge dealer and got a measurement of 37. 2 inches. Went and measured the one I had just put on and found it to be 3/4" of an inch to long! Called the Dodge dealer, again and asked if there were different track bars over the years. They told me that all the track bars were essentially the same, except the taper of the frame end joint. this is true for the half ton to the one ton, gas or diesel! So I went back to the parts place ( not the Dodge dealer ) and told them the problem and that it was to long. They said it was the wright one for my truck!:-{} I told them Dodge says the track bar is the same say for the end joint! They looked up the number and found that I was right! :-laf And gave me another track bar. Problem fixed, the steering is now strait and drives fine. But now I'm curious as to WHAT bar did they give me?????? P. S. The parts place has a life time warranty on the bar, so I didn't have to pay for anything but fuel#@$%! ouch!!!
