Any one have a Moto Mover RV??

Thoughts on Disk Brakes Please

Built a new flatdeck trailer with 6000# axle, electric brakes. When I put 12 volts to the brake wires, they work.

When I plug into truck, the Jordan Ultima doesn't show a connection(green lite). When I plug in my 5th wheel everything works. (green lite, brakes and dig. readout)

When I check the output on the truck, it reads 11. 6 volts with nothing attached except the volt meter,(batteries read 12. 86volts. ) and the same with the manual button on the Ultima depressed.

Any help appreciated.

Balzac, start with your trucks 7-way plug, pull it apart and make sure it hasn't corroded. The loss of one volt sounds like a bad connection some place.

The brake connection on my '96 was doing some goofy things. It turned out the connections where the 7pin plugs into the trucks harnes was corroded so bad the wire for the brakes fell out. The other wires were not far behind. Might not be your problem but I'd be checking out the plug and connection to the harness anyway.

The Jordan will send a 12vdc signal down the line, even though you are not pushing on the brakes. I have one and when I plug in my tester, it shows the electric brake circuit as engaged and I get . 01 amps on the Jordan which is the current draw for the diodes I am using.

Hey that's a slick idea for a tester. I've seen the ones that just have some LEDs in a plug and have been thinking about getting one to test my plug on the occasion that the lights don't work as planned. Did you make that one yourself? Looks like it'd be alot easier to see than the little LEDs on a sideways plug. I think I'll be picking up some lights and a plug this weekend and make one up.

Thanks all, It was the plug on the truck, corrosion. The voltage drop to 11. 6 volts is normal as that is the juice going thru the green indicator lite on the Ultama.

Yep, I made it myself. I would like to claim credit for the design, but cannot. I saw one like this down in Woodburn, Oregon at a trailer sales place.

I just improved on the design by using LED side marker lights. The plug will swivel also. It works very nice.

If you can make a few more I'd buy one... post it in the classifieds at TDR or shoot me a PM.

I will have to check how much this thing will cost. The connector was $12 alone and I forget what I paid for the lights each. I have had them for a couple of years. I can find out though.
