transfer drain plug leak

I have a 1999 3500 4wd automatic with a NV241HD transfer case. I changed my fluid in the transfer case the other day and torque the drain plug to spec and have a oil weep. The plug is a allen type. Is there a better plug out there or is thread tape the fix.

I use Teflon in a squeeze tube. Always dry as a bone.

Just tighten it more... You're not going to hurt it and its tapered threads.

My neighbor (the one with a 2500 drw) showed me a great fix. The cummins oil pan drain plug is the same size and thread pitch as the transfer case plugs. You can even use the drain plug gasket. I had an extra in the shop, so I used it and works great no leaks.

That is a neat deal Something to incorporate on my G56 the next time I change oil in it.

not to get a bunch of bad write ups, that is what I have on my offroad buggy for checking the amount of fuel in my buggy mine uses some 1/8 clear fuel line with quick disconnects.

I use an old broom stick, marked in 10 gallon increments, to measure the fuel in my aux tank.
