I have an occasional noise when I am towing. So far I can't make it do it solo. In drive, when accelerating from a stop at near max throttle, if I have to back all the way off for some reason (usually a stupid driver or bad judgement on my part) there come a noise like a clutch slipping. It only lasts for a second and will npt occur if I back off slowly. Only when I remove my foot from the fuel rapidly.

Only 18,600 on the rig and it only started the last 1000 mi. It has only done it about 4 times.

Any ideas?

Your barking the turbo, its normal. Try to ease out of the throttle whenever you can. Occasional barking wont hurt at stock boost levels.

i have never heard of "barking" the turbo. What is it and what causes it to happen? Other than slow deceleration is there any otherway to prevent this? my 93 never did this, even with 23psi boost

My problem only occured when towing on initial acceleration when I had to remove my foot form the fuel suddenly.
