NO boost gauge, changed fuel filter about 100 miles ago- so far no shutting off. Also, I bumped the starter, and I don't her anything. Truck turns for maybe 6-8 seconds then fires. Thanks for all your help-franl1

25000 on my 06 with nada problemas! Love this truck! Only down side is reduced fuel economy but that is offset by increased hp (over my 2001)

where do i start with my 06' problems. AC compressor, air blows out the wrong vents, warped heater box/ broken door 3 times, all applicable tsb's, sliding rear window latch twice, vibration that only i can feel, the headlight issue is especially annoying if you have a snowplow, which I do. never stain seats will stain horribly with just water. that's a good start. it's a tugging sob though.

2003 HO Auto 4x4 CC Shortbed

Routine Maint. plus:

Replaced waterpump at about 93k, bought replacement Cummin's pump from Cummin's NW.

Currently nearing 100k with no end in sight!:)

I have a 05 w/55000 miles, QC, Short Bed, Diesel, Auto 2500 4x4 and have been reading through some of the post and noticed that some people have been having problems with vibrations between 70-80 mph, I have been having the same problem. Any information or help would be helpful.

Thanks

CRuth your transmission hunt is the governor pressure solenoid in the valve body of the transmission. TSB on it. I know it was once a problem with mine. 3500 2005. Roger M.

I have a 2003 3500 4X4 had a Predator Module installed at about 48K. At 58K I sucked

a valve on number 4 cylinder. Dodge replace the whole engine as it Hydro locked on me.

I pull a 14K Montana 5th wheel . Only about 12K on the pull the rest of the mileage running empty. Dealer pulled module off and set it back to stock now I get about 13 MPG where before I was getting 17mpg. QUESTION IS DID THE PREDATOR MODULE CAUSE THE VALVE TO BREAK AND DROP INTO THE CYLINDER. ANY THOUGHTS FROM ANY ONE I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW. I am thinking of putting on a EDGE w/Attitude.

I had the same problem with my 2004 short bed 4x4. dealer said there was no fix. bull, I replaced the front u-joints at 71000 and shazam no more vibration. the machanic said it looked like they were dry from the factory, both shot and dry. I watched him take them apart, and I agree. I now have 116,000 and just replaced the cv joints and front brakes it works like a charm. I get 19-20 mpg at 70 all the time and love the truck, bought it new and will keep it til it drops. Dealers don know crap about that vibration, they came out with a weighted steering line, did NOTHING for the vibration. Try changing the front u joints. Hope this helps you, it certainly did me.

Wondering how you like your edge-ez power chip. I have been thinking of putting a Edge
w/attitude on but have been a little gun shy since the dealer and other post on this forum has said that it will void warranty. On the Dodges built in 2003 all had 7yr and 100k warranties. I now have 59k and am at 6yrs . I sucked a valve at 58K and Dodge replaced the engine with no questions as the dealer pulled the Predator chip off and never put it back on.

I need to update my signature, sorry. My ez went bad and dodge charged me 360 bucks in Colo Springs to remove it and reprogram the truck. So I called edge and they sent me an attiutude for replacement cost, I think 600 bucks. It took 15 minutes to put it on, but another 20 minutes to drill and insert the temp gauge for the exhaust temp. Mpg went down and it caughs and sort of acts like a 56 chevy with glass packs when you let off the exhaust once in awhile on setting 2, the milage setting. I don't hear or read of many complaints about it. I get 19 to 20 mpg at 68 to 70 on I-80, nice and flat. But used to get over 20. There are too many things that can cause that drop, but the sputtering bothers me and I have to run it on setting 4 to avoid the problem. You may consider another system depending on your need. I only pull a 17 ft sylvan covered fishing boat, but still get about 16 mpg at 68. That's better that my brothers new Tundra, he gets 14 empty. Consider making a phone call to Edge before you make the purchase to see if there are any improvements in the last 24 months. If not, look into Mark Chappel's stuff. I met him once in Carson 5 years ago, and he understands diesels and people, I now wish I had gone with his technology. I still may... hope this helps...

at least all of the aftermarket GARB is holding up well

we buy cummins for reliability -- i would hope that i purchased one of the most reliable rigs compared to others? just doesn't feel that way today.

I had an '03 that had a vibration between 70-75MPH. they finally figured that it was the differential yoke. . They tried one from another vehicle. It help but did not fix the problem.

This took 5 try's over several months. I had retained an attorney and they finally gave up and replaced it with an '05. .

'05 Ram 2500, 4x 75,000Mi

Since I last posted: New water pump, rebuilt trasmission because large snap ring in rear tailhousing wore a groove twice the width of the snap ring (this appears to be another common problem as these tail housing are getting harder to come by 48re)in aluminum which allowed pump to move and leave 2 lbs of aluminum and metal shavings in transmission. Adding huge tramsmission cooler, water pump went at 82,000 miles, just replaced stock batteries, replaced drivers seat back as lumbar support broke (plastic), rear brakes and right rear rotor, front upper and lower ball joints, front shocks.

06 101,000mi. Front axle u-joint 2 days ago, water pump pully broke @ 60,000mi. Needs shocks & has a rattle I have not yet found, steering is getting a bit loose, 20mpg. Last truck 2000 Ram 2500 5sp, totaled @ 240,000mi (suburu hit me, truck saved my life) only failure ever was the oil pressure sender. Miss that 2000!

Jim

Almost six years now and 57k, absolutely no problems. Added Smarty Jr. last year, set to 40hp only, still no problems. Mileage has varied from 16's to 24 (one time). Couldn't be happier.
