The good news is, I finally convinced the insurance company to total my truck and I am going to come out a couple of hundred dollars above the payoff amount.

for the details on the accident.

The bad news is I can't order the truck I want built until production starts up again in mid-July.

I am looking for a silver or white, long bed, QC, 4x4, HO 6 speed, SLT plus. Let me know if you have any ideas on dealers to check with. I am willing to pay a little above invoice and travel the lower 48 to get the truck I want. I have a trip lined up for July and will need truck to pull a 9K TT, can't wait for an August/September delivery.

Thanks,

Dave D

KatDiesel,

2500

Would prefer 4. 10 for future tire enlargement but will take 3. 54 if necessary.

Agate or Camel with White

I haven't been able to find anything locally. I thought I was done dealing with car dealers for a long time, forgot how nasty it can be.

There is a demo truck about fifty miles from here. Sport package, fully loaded SLT Plus, 2500, QC, LB 4x4, HO 6 speed, HD241 etc. The owner has been driving it, around 2500 miles on it. What is the deduction for that mileage?

I have been working with Mark Roberts Motors in OK, really nice people. They can dealer exchange a truck for me from a dealer in MO for 249. 00 over invoice. $200. 00 to transport the truck 200 miles on a rollback and 49. 00 processing fee.

It is a Bright White, LB, QC, 4x4, SLT Plus, HD241, HO 6 speed, Cab Lights #ad
, everything but the Snow Plow Prep ( I can swap in the 46/47 springs). I think I might grab this one. I would love to get another Bright Silver Metallic one but Bright White is nice. Just have to get my big butt from MD to OK to pick up the truck.

Great news Dave! #ad
Viv and I are ral happy things have worked out. We don't have any experience buying around here, but Waldorf Dodge has been real good on service. They may be good on deals too.

Take care, Wiredawg

I don't know what things are like east of the Mississippi but Dave Smith Motors in Kellog ID. should have a good selection. They'e one of those one price/no haggle dealerships. I paid something like $300 over invoice, plus the usual advertising add ons. They are at usautosales.com.
I called and reserved my truck and flew to Spokane WA. They picked me up there and drove me to the dealership for free.
Just a thought, but enjoy the search and the new wheels when you find them.

Dave Smith Motors would be the first place I'd look also. Not sure of it's still true but they used to have the most sales and inventory of CTDs in the US. When I last looked around there they had over 200 in stock. Free shipping. http://www.usautosales.com/QUOTE/

Checked Dave Smith earlier today, they don't have a truck in their inventory that matches my requirements although they were real nice people to deal with.

Think I found my new truck through Mark Roberts Motors in OK, it has everything I wanted except Snow Plow Prep. It has the HD241, I can add the 46/47 springs without too much trouble. I really want Bright Silver Metallic but Bright White is my second favorite color, I can live with that.

Andy

I get to remove all the gauges and other accesories that I added, they will be going in the new truck. I also get to take my ARE K Series Cap and bedliner. The cap is a little damaged near the liftgate and tweaked a bit when the bed got racked. The Westin CPS tube steps go with the truck. The drivers side step kept the car off the cab, making the ultimate sacrifice in the process.

Dave. . if your going to BOMB her I'd suggest the ETC as it will go farther than the ETC. . it will take stacked boxes and the stock clutch will hold better till upgrade. . agree on the 4. 10 and bigger tires to get a 3. 70 gearing

Dave, try this Link. http://www.buchanan. fivestardealers.com/

They are in Waynesboro, PA not to far from you. I know they have alot of diesels and they advertise Lowest Price Gauranteed. That's where I plan on purchasing my next one. If and when I can afford to get a new one.

Dave, I'm glad that everything came out OK w/ the insurance co. Still a bummer about the truck though. Did you check w/ the Mt. Airy and Westminster dealers. Although I did not see any white or silver a Mt. Airy last fri. when I was in there. Were you able to find out what the other dealers had coming in? Claire ran me thru the wringer finding her a Passat wagon in silver w/ a turbocharged 4 cyl. VW also has quit this year production, so it wasn't easy. Every dealer I talked to had a print out of what they had coming in though. So we were finally able to track one down. I'm assuming you've check this though.
Good luck,
Tom

Thanks for all the help. I put a deposit on the Bright White/Agate 2500, LB, QC, 4X4, HO, 3. 54 LS, SLT+, Tow Package, Camper Package, Cab Clearance Lights at Mark Roberts Dodge in OK. They have treated me really well so far.

They are doing a dealer exchange with a shop in MO. Have to wait for the truck they are exchanging to arrive via rail, then I can go and pick up the new truck.

Pretty much the truck I would have ordered except no Snow Plow Prep, does have the 241HD, I can add the springs. I would have ordered another Bright Silver Metallic but Bright White is my second choice. Hope everything goes as planned.

Dave

Don't forget to check out Keene Dodge of Jarrettsville, MD. When I bought my truck from them last year, they had DOZENS of Turbo Diesel's in stock, in almost any configuration and color combination. They have a huge lot off-property that most people don't know about, so if you're looking for something specific - it doesn't hurt to ask before driving by.

FWIW: I paid about $400 UNDER invoice for my truck, but it was just before the $2 per gallon diesel days in February 2000.
