Attention: TDR Forum Junkies Pulling a load (7000 lb or so) and I think my transmission glitched. I think it took a moment to get into first gear when I started from a stop light. If it did, it was a very slight delay. Anyway, I get to my destination, unhook the trailer and my CEL comes on. At home I get my code reader and find P0107, P0642, P0643 and P0868. I cleared the codes and headed to the computer to look them up.
The first two refer to low signal voltage in a circuit, the 3rd is a high voltage in a circuit and the last is trans line pressure. All linked to the ECM. I thought I'd start by making sure my transmission fluid was full but the truck wouldn't start. I gave a listen and couldn't hear the fuel pump working. Someone here with one of these codes suggested unplugging the ECM and plugging it back in. I gave it 30 min unhooked before reconnecting the plugs and it fired right up. CEL was on again so I shut it off to see if the codes were the same. The code reader can't see the trucks computer. It's hooked up as that is where the reader gets it's power but nothing else. Once again the truck won't start.
I unhooked the ECM again and that's were I am right now. Anyone have any ides what could be the problem? This ECM is only 2 months old - replaced when the original supposedly shorted out. Might there be something in my wiring (shudder to think) that is shorting out my ECM?
At this point, I consider my truck down. I'm hesitant to drive it as I don't want to be out in the boonies when it won't start again. A tow truck from my house to town is pricey - I'd rather fix it myself if I can. Since my work requires my truck, I'm out of work until it's fixed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
