Thanks, TDR Staff

Competition where to stay June 25&26 for dhra nationals?

Competition Silver Bullets On The Move Again

I had a thought, Due to previous complications, lets get it out here now HOW and WHAT exactly is the requirement to pass tech... ... ???

At- I think it was Indy- there was a rumor that Greg heard, and backed out, that he was gonna be put under a microscope during tech, lets just lay it out here so there won't be any problems come showtime.....

Should be a simple NHRA standard tech. No microscoping. Let's show all these boys the proper respect as Professional Competitors. All standard as if these boys were going to their home track. Let's make this plain and simple so these boys can just bring their iron and be ready to ROCK the tarmac.

O. k. Greg has the current record, so with all due respect-Greg, do you have any suggestions?

We would be VERY disappointed if there was any stupid reasons that would have one of these competitors would feel the need to not show up. Honestly, we should make this a clean old outlaw style event.

Best of 3 was the suggestion pages ago Neal... ... .

Dennis,

Be the middle-man. Send a "Letter of Intent to Commit" to Edge and Greg. Once you have in writing that each intends to attend if the other attends, you can send certified copies of each letter of intent to the other along with a contract committing each to attend. Once each have signed both contracts (so each knows the other really did sign), the race is on. The contract should be simple: all requisite safety equipment is required, one compression ignition engine is allowed, best of three heads-up runs, and the loser makes a suitable donation to the winner's specified charity. To keep it fair and clear, both racers must complete both (or three rounds if necessary) without breaking; if there's breakage before a winner is determined, confering the title is delayed until some future date.

Why best of three? This is a race to determine who's best. Luck often determines the outcome of one race. Three eliminates the doubt. Why the breakage clause? Breakage leaves doubt due to 'a lucky break'; we want luck and doubt eliminated. The win and title must be earned, not chanced upon.

I think you nailed it Neal, Let me paraphrase this sequence: If you scribe structured verbiage surmising a suitable summery, then send this script to the sendee for a signature, then the signee will become the secondary sender sending the script to the sendee for the sender to scrutinize the signee’s script substantiating the signature of the signee ?

Geez. I thought Dr. Seuss was dead. Well, that's what his niece in Albuquerque told me, and she should know. :)

Nice alliteration.

Notice COMP not replying to all this ?

Wonder what the excuse will be THIS time ? Maybe RD should start another POLL as to what the excuse should be this time for COMP not showing up ?

The only microscoping needed is to ensure that safety and license requirements are met, the same microscoping that is applied to all competitors and exhibitors at DHRA events.

Since this is a classless race ... errr ... maybe I can word that better. :) Since this race does not fall within any formal classes of drag racing, the only rules to meet are licensing and safety. Licensing to assure each driver that the other is able to competently handle the vehicle, and safety to ensure the safety of the drivers, crews and spectators. And passers-by, should something go horribly wrong.

Granted, *some* people go to motorsports events hoping to see horrific wrecks, but I think most people go to see honest competition from which everyone walks away, albeit some with a spring in their step, and others kicking pebbles and hanging their heads.

It may be an 'outlaw' race, but the track would be remiss if they did not ensure safety and licensing requirements were met.

Wrong- Greg has stated If the Edge Truck commits he will be there... .

I think the ones to question now would be EDGE?

Remember, DHRA cancelled the BG event and that put Dennis without a race in BG. That one race is the "fun" race we have every year. I think what we're seeing, is an event growing, that no "body" of organizers are neccessary. So now we're going to have the fun event, just on the dates we're not used to. Dennis knows how too, and is quite capable of put putting 's a stellar event.

Now to get Greg to commit, and have some "banter" put to rest. But ain't computer racing fun. No show and tell. Just talk. Personally, I think's Comp's goose is cooked, and all the "typing" you can do it can't get it out of the fire. I do not have one thing agains't Greg or anything he's sa :D id on here. He does know how to go fast. It's just time to back it up.

. . The time is nigh. .

My, My, how this thread has fizzled into nothingness... ... I do find it rather amusing that after all of the crap that we gave COMP, that some are now Turning this on EDGE saying that they are at fault for not commiting. When is the last time any of you saw anyone from Edge post on the internet? When was the last time any of you guys saw Keith post in regards to that truck or Comp's posts? That being said, why do you expect them to all of a sudden? Start talking freely because we have found a date and a place to do this? They could race anytime they(both parties) want to... . they may have already and want to keep the results a secret. I have heard that the video is on the same shelf as the original Zapruder film.

Well after reading and reading and reading I found the end. And where did it get me? I am still no where. Is there going to be the race of the century or not?

Come on guys, this is the chance to shut everyone up and show your true colors. Lets get this together and make an awesome race event that will be remembered for a long time.

So as the man in the ring would say, "LETS GET IT ON!"

Please? :D

Well now, Greg said he comming, and Keating is. Edge? I'm to a point of, so what? More Pro Street type will be there. With no limits to what you can do. Then the FTRL is comming up. A bunch of 11 and 12 sec trucks. And knowing Dennis, anything that has diesel propelling it, will run.

Does Edge being there make it the race of the forever? I think it's looking pretty good.
