Competition where to stay June 25&26 for dhra nationals?

Competition Silver Bullets On The Move Again

I expect this event to be excellent no matter who shows up or doesn't for that matter. However it would sure be great to see all of the heavy hitters in this sport together at the same time on the same track. I believe this will be achieved if Fletcher and Edge make it out to join the others that have already committed. Time and money issues and excuses aside, does everybody have to balls to attend and show their stuff??

Mr. Fletcher, I do wish you'd stop accusing us of embezzling funds from the company. It has become quite tiresome.

There are 3 weekends during the summer that are the bread and butter for my business. The weekend of Indy (which last year I hopped on a plane for Keating making 2 passes) and this weekend count for 2. Damnit! Keating has all the intentions of being there with bells on. I'll be there in spirit (actually I'll be in New York). Oh well... .

Just out of curiosity why did the DHRA lose such a great opportunity? There are a lot of rumors floating around, people that once were blindly loyal to the DHRA, now working on some really great competitive races , that were said to be not available .

I think Dennis is doing a great job, of promoting. Dennis what can you do in Texas; I'm really not thrilled by 4 hour races. You and David get together and make Houston a event as great as this one looks to be. I'll show up when its worth coming. Fletcher is trying to make it,

How about running a Pro Street race at an NHRA divisional race. One qualifying pass on Friday night, two on Saturday, and eliminations on Sunday. Scott and Dustin could bring their dragster, Ill show up and run Keating. There are about 20 thousand people at these races, and plenty of opportunity to show case for the general public.

You can be so pessimistic sometimes Greg. The fact is that I screwed up, and I learned from it.

We aren't going away from the event, Dennis is just keeping it alive while we lick our wounds from the lesson learned. We will be back next year.

For those interested in what happened:

Our intentions with the TS All Diesel Challenge was to turn it into a mini-national event (sled pulling, drag racing, show-n-shine, dyno, vendors). When we got to Beech Bend to lay out the pulling track we encountered a rigid Dallas Jones in so much that he ended up asking us to build the pulling track on top of a land fill area! That was just the beginning, he then asked what date I had and when I told him, he said you will have to move it. He booked another race on our date, after three years of doing the same thing on the same weekend! The only other dates that were available were April 15th (Easter weekend) and nothing until June 10th. We are already booked on the 10th and its dang close to IRP-the biggest event around. Lesson learned, get the cotract signed whether it offends the person or not... .

Don't ever forget that statement boys.

The members of this board showed up at all Diesel events, the last several years, and made them what they are today.

Let us know when your truck is worth watching, Greg..... you DO have a truck, don't you?

Where did that come from? you've misinterpreted me.....

Bill... ... ... . You say so much in such a stange way, I think it's hard to tell what you do mean. You know like crying wolf.

ALL of you need to remember lots of us Southerners read these boards. Use of big city fancy words are not allowed.

To help some out, I got out the southern dictionary.

Pessimistic - the feeling you get when a sledpuller says they make 1500hp.

Monetary - means financial or money. Think of the chickens you traded for the goat.

Embezzling - Steal or commit fraud - think when Billy Joe "borrowed" some tools or took money out of the beer fund.

20 Thousand People - your cousins.

Thanks Thom..... I don’t mean to sound factious but, are you and Neil brothers?

Embezzling sounds like something Texan gasser boys do with their cousins, once removed.

Losing is like any other disease, you are positive you can find a cure, if you could get more FUNDING!! :-laf

Tom and Neal brothers? More like Bill and Neal, at least they come from the same school of long on talk, short on results. :D :-laf

So Comp461 showed and beat Keating in the match race. I think there is alot of crow to be eaten and t-shirts made and money exchanged. LOL It was an ugly win for Comp and his new ride, but in drag racing a wins a win. the track was not the best shape and both trucks nearly wrecked, hopefully someone will post the video for the naysayres. :--) Keatings truck was awesome consitently running in the 8. 90's. Congrats to both Comp and Keating for putting on a hell of a show. Oo.
