I just bought a 1998 2500 Ram and am looking for recommended upgrades. Short term I am planning on adding guages and some sort of electronic enhancement.

What are your opinions on the TST PowerMax3? It looks like I could get that and take care of my power adding and guages at the same time. I assume it's worth the money since it includes guages and adds more power than most other add-ons like the bullydog and edge ez.

I know it would probably eat my stock torque converter, but I could probably run it at a lower setting until I get around to upgrading it and the valve body. I'll just keep an eye on the transmission temp.

My plans for it for this year are the PowerMax3 (based on your recommendations) with the transmission temp guage, K&N, maybe a pusher fuel pump, and a fuel pressure guage. Eventually I'd like to upgrade the torque converter and transmission valve body, injectors, turbo housing and exhaust.

I looks like this is an early 24v. Build date is 1/1998. Anything other than the lift pump I should watch out for? I think the previous owner said the lift pump had been replaced once.

This truck is going to be used for daily commuting on weekdays and hauling my rock crawler early Bronco to the trails on weekends.

Thanks,

Bob, where did you see the wizard for 675 with the guages? If that is true that is a SMOKIN deal!!! I looked over the link you gave and did not see it.

Marc, the PM3 is a great box. Lots of guys are partial to the Edge products on here, but unfortunately the Comp does not give you automatic defueling options or the guage capability like the PM or the Wizard that Bob linked to. If you do the math the PM3 and the FMS are fair deals considering you do not buy guages seperately and you get some features that are not available with other boxes. The installation is also very clean with the readouts on the boxes. If it were me the PM3 would get my vote, I simply like the packaging better and you have to love the cool factor of the remote control :D . If the Wizard is 675 like Bob said it is a no-brainer, that is 5-600 dollars off!

If anyone wants the flyer that I picked up at BD, let me know and I can fax it to you
