'01.5 ECU failure/theft update

Pulled the dead fuel pump out of the tank just have the fass ddrp on the block . It runs but seems to be still starving for fuel

I use hot shots secret additives. Was having intermittent fuel delivery problems. Removed walbro electric pusher and found a piece of bottle protective cover (aluminum) restricting pump inlet. Never know sometimes...

I have a pressure gauge on the filter itself kept getting intermittent pressure finally replaced the tank module that seems to help stays constant now . Still acts like is starving for fuel all the time . Can’t upload a video . Engine oil was a gallon over full with diesel fuel when I drained it . Only three places fuel can get in the crankcase is injectors or cross over tubes or front seal on the injection pump right ?? Is it possible I blew the injection pump seal when I ran constant power supply to the lift pump ?

Only way I could see that was if the lift pump was massively over pressuring the injector pump. From factory, if the engine is running, the lift pump is running also. Just not tied to the keyed power.

No you can not blow that seal with a lift pump. The internal gear pumps pressure is much higher then what a lift can reach.

Although the internal vane pump pressure is far higher than lift pump pressure, I don't believe the VP44 shaft seal is exposed to internal vane pump pressure (well over 100 psi), so vane pump pressure would not be relevant. However, (don't absolutely know for sure) the shaft seal is likely to be exposed to lift pump pressure, so I wouldn't say that excessively high lift pump pressure couldn't cause a VP44 shaft seal leak.

Thanks . I set one set of injectors off to be tested haven’t heard back then I’m going to pull the set that’s in the truck now and have them tested as well / eventually I’ll get to the bottom of it Just need to find the time

So the original injectors that were In the truck when all the problems started did have one that was dribbling fuel also one of the orings on the injector body was bad the pump shop said that can cause fuel in the oil . Going to send the injectors in the truck now and see what they test like
