The tank is done!
The local guy, Craig, did a great job. I got the tank this afternoon.
I asked Craig to save the cut-off piece for me, and I measured the fuel quantity that I lost. It works out to right about 3. 5 gallons. I was beginning to worry as I poured more bottles of water into it, thinking that it might amount to 4 gallons, and I wasn't too far off. Somehow, 3. 5 gallons sounds much better though.
Craig's dad is the one who handed me the tank, so I don't have contact data for Craig yet. (I need to get permission from him. ) I expect, though, that there will soon be another source for fuel tank welding. Craig is near Cincinnati, and will be more convenient for many members than Red in Tulsa.
Garrett, did you get in touch with Red? Any luck there? If he can't help you, maybe Craig can.
