Let me first just say thank you to Brady over at Industrial Injection Service for all his help.



The HRVP44 and RV injectors are great. It's a brand new truck, I can't wait to tow with her. I know it's probably one of the simplest mods but it makes me happy.



Does anyone know, can the idle be manually adjusted. It's too high 850-900. It hangs for a second at 1K and then drops to 850-900. This puzzles me.



Any ideas?

you can't adjust idle manually. I have seen some hot rod pumps idle a little high. My truck does the same high idle, then drop to normal thing. It has always done that with bigger injectors or more fuel for me. I wouldn't worry about any of it.

My HRVP has done the same since new (almost a year old now), and I haven't figured out a solution yet. If you figure it out let us know.

My new to me VP44 (reman) runs up to 1000 rpm then back down when mph drops below 10. Not sure what that is all about, I have heard it explained as a failsafe to keep the pump turning for steering and brakes. No clue. Its a little annoying.

The fast idle is a carryover from gasoline engine operation. The engineers set the software to keep the engine idle speed a little fast if the vehicle is in motion, supposedly to help keep it from stalling if you select the wrong gear or if you roll up to a stop and forget to push the clutch, higher RPM avoids beating the clutch or main bearings.



Dont ask for a weblink or proof, I lived next to the Chrysler proving gounds and picked up some tidbits. I still have a contact there (sshhhhhh).



Some of the tidbits are good some make you really PO'd at the numskull beancouners at Chrysler. Some really good ideas got derailed because of them benefiting only the "ten percentile range" of buyers.



For example, hard plastic vacuum lines (or undersize tran oil coolers) failing in the SW region. "Less than 10% of gross sales are in this region" so they know the problem but wont fix it. A better grade of vacuum line would increase service life. Oh well, I'll shut up before I get a knock at the door :-laf
