It look like I'm going to have to replace my VP-44 very shortly. I got one on the way from Piers. I had the dealer replace it about 40,000 miles ago and it's going out again.

I'm going to replace it myself this time and I need the R & R instructions, the service manual doesn't have them. Does anyone have a printed set of instructions or know a website I can find them at?

Thanks for you help. :( :(

What are your symptoms?

Big Bob... . I'm having "issues", I think are VP44 related, so I'm very interested in knowing what criteria you're using to determine that you are needing to replace your pump, beyond just flat being dead, which I don't gather is the case.

TIA

Bob Wagner,

You are the "Man"! Thank you!

I copied A Johnson's instructions. Seems pretty straight forward.

The following are the problem's I am having:

01. Hard starting (usually when Hot)

02. Sometimes when I come up to a stop light the engine runs real rough at an idle and I have to give it some throttle to keep it running.

03. A stumble every once in a while.

The hard starting is the main issue.

I'm running 14+#'s of fuel pressure at idle, 13+#'s while cruising and 10+#'s at WOT.

I have 148,000 miles on the truck.

Thanks again Bob!
