I am having a issue with rough idling and hard starting. I have replaced the injectors, crossover tube o-rings and check valve on the return line. A mechanic at the Dodge dealer said that I could have a bad delivery valve in the VP44. Anyone heard of this or is he looking for a easy VP44 sale? The computer isn't showing any codes either.

look at ALL the fuel lines and be SURE there is no dampness (sign of a leak) also check connector at the tank as the oring can leak causing air to get sucked in with the fuel and hard starts/idle issues.

What's strange is it all started when I went to the Edge Stage 2 injectors. The truck ran fine with the stock units. I just wonder if I got a bum set of injectors.

did the injectors come with new copper washers? were you sure you got all the old ones out? try putting the stock inj back in, if that cures the issue then you know.

Yeah I used new copper washers and made sure the old ones came out. I guess I'll put the stock ones back in this weekend and see how it runs. I figure as picky as the VP44 is if there were ANYTHING wrong with it it would throw a code.

Well finally found the issue. Apparently if you don't pry out on the intermediate tubes enough when you are pulling the old injectors and tapping in the new ones you can really mess up the ends of the tubes. I had three that were in pretty bad shape. Changed them out and no more hard starts. Engines has a bad lop at idle with the Hypertech on high but that's a small price to pay to be able to blow black smoke on all the Volvo driving yuppies. Now I am just going to see how long the stop transmission will handle 750 lbs of torque.
