Hi DTR guys

We are doing some tests for a future technical article on the VP44 lift pump. Do you have a used one that you would like to donate so we can all learn about the flow rates and design problems(Carter and Chrysler both)? Our goal is to give definate data and ways to improve on the design.

I will pay for the shipping.

Thank you

No offense, but that horse has been beaten into a grease stain on the ground.

Even Daimler Chrysler has acknowledged that there is a problem and released a fix sometime in '04 - '05. Same confession with the 3rd gen common rail LP. This is why there are several after market pumps available for the 2nd gens.

All you need to know is what the VP requires, and that is no less than 10psi at all times with the OEM fuel lines and fittings (there's your flow). Max pressure eludes me, and I want to say 27-30 psi. If there is doubt or debate over the pressure/flow, then contact Bosch directly (which Daimler Chrysler did not do).

If you're still interested I have at least one and possibly two. I wouldn't be able to get to it until Sept 20th or 21st. PM me if still interested.

I concur hahaha

Strokercummins, I agree also, you are beating a dead horse here. I'm not trying to insult you but it is a cheap electric driven vane pump, that is mounted too far from the fuel tank. Look at any heavy duty diesel engine, they mostly run gear or piston fuel transfer pumps. Relocation near the tank helps but believe me, it will still fail. I went through 3 of them. I've had an AirDog FP80 on my truck since 2006 and haven't had a fuel pressure issue since. I may have 2 of the 3 lift pumps still collecting dust in my garage, if you still want one, just pm me. Regards, Mike.

PS - Was that a slip saying DTR guys ( Diesel Truck Resource ) ? Or was it a typo - should of been TDR guys ?
