My waterpump died on me as I was pulling into work the other night. It was a very easy fix that I was able to do in the parking lot in about 40 minutes or so. I was just curious how many miles you guys' trucks had on them when the pump went south? Mine only had 71k on it.

btw- got the new one from Napa. It was brand new not rebuilt and has a lifetime warranty for $61.

I changed mine @ 210k miles or so along with all the hoses. Figured I'd change it when it was convenient and not in the middle of a road trip somewhere... . Its in the box for a spare now. . No telling how many miles its got left in it... . Slick little pump.

I had around 100,000 on mine. It went out while on a trip and I couldn't find a Napa, so I had to pay about $110 at a Dealer!

Check your coolant more often

If you guys have any doubts about what shape your coolant is in, drain it and flush it out. From now on my coolant is going to be sampled from the bottom of the radiator every year.

I pulled mine at 150K and it was like new so I put it back in. Someone on e-bay is selling pumps cheap for cummins although he says they are for Case backhoes they have basicly the same engine and there is also a picture of the pump.

They are the 4 cyl. engines though. They may be different. Never had a w/p from both side-by-side, so I could be all wet.
