Started out looking for a 6.4L Hemi. Somehow ended up here!

You won't be sorry. I've had mine for 4 months now and I still can't stop smiling. I also see that you got one with the proper number of wheels! Congratulations!

Thanks!.. Been resisting the urge for a while. Test drove a 13 model LL with the Aisin, dealership had a GREAT price on it, but couldnt get past the chrome buckles everywhere and there were just too many colors going on with the LL interior to suit my taste.
Dealer had a 14 model loaded identical to the LL, just with the Laramie interior instead of LL, and was several K cheaper than the 13 model LL!! Go figure??
They do fool ya though... the truck is so much more refined that you are almost disconnected from everything going on outside of the cab. Awful easy to get to 80 mph without feeling gear changes or realizing you are speeding!.
My 06 model, you knew it, you could feel it and hear it...

Yeah I'd have to agree. I started out just looking on RAM trucks.com. When I found the truck that I had just built was in my local dealers cue in waiting delivery status, I started checking it every few days and when it came in, I stopped by the dealer just to take a look at it. Ended up driving it for the weekend... next thing I knew they said I could have it for my price. Now I have 2 3500 Rams one 2003 and on 2013!! You have a great looking truck there. You will be happy with it I'm sure. Ken Irwin

Bill, Peters in Longview has some pretty good deals. They ahve two 13 models left on the lot, might as well go get ya one!. That Prarie Pearl is a really nice color!
I signed the papers Friday morning and drove off in the old 3rd gen!. Salesman was standing there kinda puzzled when I handed him the keys to it and told him I'd come get it next week! He asked why I wasnt taking it home, told him the truck was useless this weekend without a fifth wheel hitch in the bed and the wifey wanted to go camping!
They got the bedliner in it Saturday, going to detail it in the morning so I can pick it up.
FWIW, EVERY salesman/woman at that friggin' dealership asked me at one point or another if I was trading in the 06 model, asked how many miles it had, if I was going to sell it...etc..

yes.. I will admit that I have been pushing my luck with the Jayco and the 3/4 ton. Even after extra springs and the Roadmaster Active Suspension the back end of the truck is just flat overwhelmed by the Jayco at times. As long as the road is smooth and even, life is good. But Lousyanna, Mississippi, Alabama roads have taught me that I need some margin of safety.
The local trips to the lake for a weekend are one thing, but we have traveled from East Texas to Gulf Shores Ala., Shiner Texas, Galveston Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, etc..
Im not going to be able to stop the wifey from constantly packing more crap in the camper, so 6 wheels was the logical choice.

So, I am assuming you are keeping the '06. Did they make you an offer on it?

yes, keeping the 06, most of them wanted me to trade it in... but two different salesmen approached me and asked if I would sell it to them personally. I told them sure, 35K oughta cover it!
There is a guy in the town I live in that has given me his phone # and offered to give 32K cash for it like it sits.
If the 14 model lives up to the 06 model, I will probably take him up on his offer..... but not until the 14 model proves to be as tough as the 06.

Fancy! Are those factory wheels (I see they have Dodge the Ram Caps)? I'd like to find some later model wheels for my 2nd gen before I buy tires, those look great.

Yes they are factory wheels. I was surprised to see Alcoa Emblems on them. Every dually they had on the lot had those wheels except for some work trucks that had chrome plated steel.
I hope they are easy to clean!

Wingate

What's the color description? Looks chocolate....for a dark color I certainly do like it, however after my charcoal/granite 03, I believe only lighter colors are in my future. Congrats on the new rig, enjoy!

Just a plain old Western Brown.

Nice looking truck!

On a different note, what is a heater treater HVAC that is in your sig?
The 3rd gen trucks were NOTORIOUS for the doors in the HVAC system breaking off and causing loss of ac/heat. After being repaired several times under warranty and failing again out of warranty, I found HeaterTreater aluminum doors for a fraction of dealership repair costs and installed the one that was broke at the time. Still have the other two sitting in my shop waiting on the factory stuff to fail.
Most every guy on here that has a 3rd gen has ended up with the HeaterTreater parts. Glad TDR was here or I may have put the factory parts in again.

I've been offered 31.5K for my '07 and I have been so tempted to do exactly what you just did. I've put less than 10K on my '07 over the last 2 years and the vast majority of those miles have been towing. A 3500 like you just picked up would be perfect for me under those uses.

Mine still look new after 2.5 years.

Nice they have top quality wheels. Now they need convincing to change from the POS Generals to Michelin MS2's!
