TooTall I assume your truck is a 2500??? *I heard this is a 2500 only recall is that true? *If so why would this only effect the 2500's?

Fill in your sig that would be helpful in the future. *

Acadiana Dodge, good folks with a good parts department! *They had a clutch part for my old early 97 12 valve that nobody else had.*

2500's only As far as I know FCA has never made a statement why3500's are not being recalled. That being said if your scr cat fails and you are still covered under the warranty you will be taken care of

I had the recall done just before my annual Fla Keys trip. I've got to say aside from the tail pipe falling off. The clamp was bad. The truck has never ran better. Made the trip for the first time with out a CEL comming on. DEF usage is up almost two gal for the entire 3440 mile trip. I used around 1 gal per 400 miles last two trips usage was a gal per 550 miles. I don't mind using more DEF if it's going to keep running like it did this trip. All in all I think they finally got it right, the programing that is.

Just to add more info to this discussion.....I had my recall performed a couple of weeks ago, I have not noticed any change in performance or mileage. My PCM already had the most recent update.

Why do you have to bring the truck to the dealer? And then wait for them to order the parts. Is the recall To replace all of them or not?

I am far from an expert, but its my understanding that the 3500's don't have that ammonia sensor that is being removed.

Anyone notice after having the SCR replaced, the truck goes through active regens more often? I wonder if this is part of the new programming? I get now every week or every other week. It consists of a 100% to 70% count down on the EVIC. The truck no longer runs differently during active regens nor any noticable smell.

All they really have to do is look up your VIN number. I think they are just trying to get a handle on how many they need and whether the customer is going to follow through on changing it. Guessing however.

I was lucky I guess. On a last minute whim, the Friday before Presidents Day, I called the local dealer to see if they had room on their schedule to do this on Monday (since I was off for the holiday). They had an appointment available and they had the parts in stock. Wham bam!

A good dealer will have them in stock to enhance the customer experience. There are only 3 different Part#'s as I recall.Standard cab, crew cab,and Mega cab
