yes Sir , I picked up that tip off TDR last week , worked great. The O'ring on the filter (flat, not spin on) is probably out of place or cut. If you don't have a big drain pan get a masonry mixing pan at HD or Lowes. They are less than $10 and you can catch all the fluid in a nice clean pan.
What brand of filters did you use?
Did you measure the amount of fluid removed so as to have a baseline of fluid to replace?
Yes Sir i did but the lying dipstick had me doubling cking my math.
Thanks for your research .They look pretty similar from the numbers I found, unless there is some additional additive in ARSC not listed.
The Mobil listed ATF+4.

Did you replace BOTH filters?Baldwin brand filter off of Amazon.
What happens if I don't use ATF plus 4 and I used to a ASRC type ?
Yes, they came in a kit #20000 by BaldwinDid you replace BOTH filters?
ThanksYeah I over filled one time made it slip pretty bad. Not a newer one, early 90s, you are fine on that oil.
The ATF+4 from what I have found in the past is a really great cold weather fluid, it's pretty specific to that cold weather spec.
Here is what the data sheet says for your oil.
AMSOIL warrants the use of this product for Chrysler ATF+4® applications above -38°F. Product does not meet the cold temperature requirement of ATF+4 at -40°F. For warranty information, visit www.amsoil.com/warranty.aspx.
Okay thanks I'll look it up.Their are to sump pipe lengths one 4wd the other 2wd
That sounds like a TC drain down issue. Happen to 47RE's a lot.Okay thanks I'll look it up.
It's working as long as I let the truck idle for a few minutes before driving.
Except the 47RE’s only circulated fluid in neutral. The 68RFE’s circulate fluid in park AND neutral. That sounds like a TC drain down issue. Happen to 47RE's a lot.

I’ve read elsewhere that some aftermarket sump filters developed hairline cracks as they were an inferior filter. It would be a PITA, but it might take some better, OEM filters to fix your problem, OP.
