New here a few questions about a new 3500 DRW.

DEF System TROUBLE

Got it out of jail. (Picked up from dealer) 2nd time in three weeks. Two weeks ago the cruise control switch was replaced, 3 recalls performed, and no power at the trailer light running light pin fixed. (had brake and turn signals) Track bar bracket installed. Steering wheel was then 20 degrees off center. That's why I brought it back yesterday.

Where I live, in the mountains, the deer are almost as plentiful as mosquitos!

I want to see them!

Besides, the full lower air dam is open, the full grill is open and only a 22" portion of the center dam is covered by the light bar.
I would think it would be more of an issue if a guy used the "Ram Supplied" winter rad cover, which I will never use.

You guys are grabbin at straws if you haven't installed a light bar and don't know if it makes a difference in air flow performance.

Good thing you're not me or you would have done it.

If I see it causes any temperature problems, I guess I'll have a light bar for sale!

Till then.....I'm enjoying the HELL out of it!

Just driving around it won't be a problem. It's more of a concern when towing and especially when climbing grades. I thought you came up with better fog lights?

Remember I said "I" would not do it.

So what heating are you referring to Coolant? its the CAC that's going to run hotter, When engines are on the dyno (Engine dyno) forget to turn the fan on the Air exchanger and you have air that's 100-200* hotter costing 2-4+% HP, Now couple that with EGR You will be increasing soot, the 6.7 has a tricky EGR setup, it has 3 Thermo couplers, 1 bypass valve, 1 EGR Valve, 1 Throttle valve. ETC.

I think its no problem in cool/cold climates but 85*+ days you will sacrifice Mileage, efficiency, and added maintence costs. More lightings may offset the cost. hitting 1 road animal Deer/elk would cost $1000s in repairs, easily making the addition lighting worth the costs.

The "you reduced air flow" comment implies something is going to over heat. If blocking air flow in a 22" by 2" space in the bumper causes performance issues with your truck when there's a 2' by 4' opening right above it, your truck has other issues. As I previously stated, ours trucks tow heavy during all four seasons and have not had one issue related to the light bar blocking that little slot.

I did upgrade the fog lights. I use them with my dims to add better light field with my projectors. The light bar is to use with my brights to augment the vision with them.

If I see an issue with heating, the light bar will go for sale.

We'll have to see. First outing is May long weekend.

Thank you for your concern anyways! I'll post how it goes.

I had my Dealership install my long awaited BD Throttle Sensitivity Booster and Switch yesterday. I had the Dealership do the install for 2 reasons.

1- I wanted to make sure it was not going to void my warranty in any way.
2- Beacuse they have had several others complain about pedal lag, acceleration and dead pedal syndrome, they offered to do the installation for free and pay half of the cost of the complete unit if it solved my issues.

Here is my report on it.

What a DRASTIC improvement on performance. No more acceleration lag! It's almost instantaneous! Turned my truck into a Thoroughbred!

Although it didn't solve the "Dead Pedal Syndrome" 100%, what it DID do was increased the recovery after the initial lag during the dreaded "On-Off-On" pedal acceleration I experienced in the past. From what was a 2-3 second recovery from dead with slow acceleration , it has shortened it to about a 1 second recovery with quick acceleration. I'd say this is about a 75% improvement in this category.

I'm confident, especially knowing of the "On-Off-On" dead pedal circumstances, this will lessen the chances of being placed in a compromising situation.

Regarding pedal lag, from a dead stop and straight on the pedal, you're accelerating and gone! I'd say this is a 100% improvement in this category!
It basically made my truck act like it has a tune, without tuning it!

I'm really happy with it and feel the money was well spent!

Your Dealer Has NO control over the warranty other than (Discovery) Sounds like the dealer is upfront and caring you just need to exercise caution if the truck finds its way to another dealer that's NOT so concerning, I kept this for years and post it often on Warranty comments, here's the Principle.

Factory Warranty voided
‘Maybe I can clear this UP, GM All makers Must meet the certification REQUIRED by Federal Law. The instant YOU delete ON/OFF road use (The only exception to this law is Race or off road competition) GM or your Dealer cannot (legally) even repair the Vehicle if it has State Plates.
Enforcement is the issue, Many times action is NOT taken when the warranty is voided, This is the parties involved discretion, MAKE NO mistake YOUR warranty is voided the instant you make defeat or delete steps to any component that’s needed to meet the certification.
Enforcement is the major part of any Law, if No enforcement then it’s a statement, if the parties involved decided to enforce the law it is now binding and absolute.

Your warranty cannot be Voided on all component's that have NO bridge or connection, Example NEW radio cannot void suspension components, but it sure can void ALL electronic communications. Enforcement is the key Part of any law or warranty. When disagreements arise they are generally decide By arbitration or Judge.

Its best just not to find out...... I'm sure they would in House, its away that some other dealer May NOT agree...I'm being adamant about this BC it has happened.

Good info to know.

I had my Dealer follow a thread on another forum and I had them contact BD Power to understand exactly what it does.

Where did you ask the dealer to put/mount the switch? Love the switch by the way. Works nice. I installed it in a way that it can likely be removed in 5 mins. No dealer has seen it yet. But it is nice and sturdy here drilled into sheet metal. I was also hiding it from my wife who can't really see it from the passenger/shotgun seat. So you guys will have to tell her all about it if I can ever convince her that May Madness is not for losers. (Sorry guys, her words, not mine)

I don't tell my wife what I spend on my truck! I like being married to her!
To her it's just plain "Madness" no matter what month! She keeps telling me we could have a vacation home somewhere for what my truck costs. LOL

I had the dealer mount my switch to the left of the paper slot on the side of the console. Well hidden from prying eyes!

This is a pic of me and my wife. She's a keeper!

She knows the switch is there after having it for nearly 4 months. Yours looks professionally installed. Mine looks added on.

I told her it is my "fuel economy" switch. When she rolled her eyes, I could tell she didn't want to know any more. Lol

Thats hilarious! I get the "eye rolling" all the time.

Thought I'd share

My leather seats were getting dirty and my new blues jeans have been leaving blue die.

I googled Best Leather Upholstery cleaner and watched a few videos of the Meguiars Leather Cleaner and Conditioner.
I decided to buy some and try it on my tan leather interior.

I have to say, my leather seats look like the truck just came from the factory again. Totally impressed!

Procedure is:

Purchase Meguiars Gold Class Rich Leather Cleaner and Conditioner.
Purchase a good brush made for leather cleaning. The one I bought is made by Simonize.
Purchase some good Micro-fibre clothes.
Spray the cleaner on the leather doing a full area at a time. ie: Seat, back, side bolsters.
Using the brush, lightly scrub the seat areas in a circular motion.
Using the Micr-fibre cloth, wipe the excess cleaner/conditioner off the seats, however, wipe the complete seats as it is also a conditioner.

You won't be disappointed!

It doesn't make your seats shiny? I've been hesitant about putting anything on my leather because I don't want it to look like a cheap car wash sprayed fake Armorall on the seats.

Nope. Seats are like a Matt finish after using Meguiars. Just like factory.

I hate Armourall. That crap is just a shiny dust magnet. I use a damp cloth to wipe my dash and interior.

I haven't found anything for taking boot scuffs off my plastic door panels. Anyone got a good product they use?
