Sled Puller,

I always look forward to your replies in threads like this one or pretty much any of them in the "other" section. Keep up the good work.

Sled puller, Christ was a Jew. However, he branched off and taught his own teachings and was persecuted for this. He was killed and the disciples followed in his footsteps spreading the word he wanted.

It was a very interesting time in history and i found it truly astounding how long the religion has lasted. The people of that time needed togetherness, needed each other, and the gospels of mark, matthew, john, and luke gave them a portable copy of teachings to take with them and learn from. These didn't really rise until 100 years after the death... correct me if i'm wrong i'm estimating and haven't read into this is a few years.

And to answer the poll, no the ark would prove nothing to me, it wouldn't change the way i feel one iota.

I need merrick to help me clarify something. Didn't Christ say, i believe it was in Mark somewhere, perhaps Luke. That there will be no false prophets after me?

If this is so, then why do the Mormons have a "prophet" and the founder of the religion considered himself, as does everyone else... a prophet? That's one of the religions i've always had a hard time with, and living in Utah it is sure magnified. Hell i'm married to one so it's a real headache at times.

The exact opposite was stated in Matt. 24:23, 24.

Says there if anyone says to you, "Here is the Christ. ", do not

believe it. False Christs and false prophets will arise and mislead.

Early Christians were very smart - to help their religion survive, they took beliefs liberally from other religions. Most of it is of course Jewish in origin - though there are Flood stories in other religions that predate Noah and his Ark. The Romans had a celebration called Saturnalia that was a big deal, so the Christians 'forgot' that their founder was born sometime in the spring and moved his birthday to the end of December. His death was celebrated at the same time as the rites of Eostre, a pagan goddess, and that's why it's called Easter today. This isn't a criticism of Christianity, in fact I admire them for it, it kept their religion alive long enough to become the dominant religion in the Western World.

One other funny thing - when the Christians converted the Norse, they of course wanted everybody to wear the Cross symbol. The Norsemen used metal molds to make Christian Crosses - that could also make Thor's Hammers.

Sorry, that is what i meant, that prophets would rise and that they will be false and not to follow them. I guessed mark and luke and ofcourse it was Mattew! Thanks

There's another thing that has bothered me... Jews don't celebrate Christmas, the birth of Christ, or believe he was the son of God.

Now help me out here, but wasn't Jesuslike, THE Jew????????

How can the Christians just hijack Jesus into their beliefs?I think if you wanted to be closer to God, you would practice the same religion Jesus was part of.

John 1:11 He came to his own home, and his own people received him not.

His own are the Jews.

Acts 10:45 - And the believers from among the circumcised who came with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on the Gentiles.

Acts 11:1 - Now the apostles and the brethren who were in Judea heard that the Gentiles also had received the word of God.

Acts 11:18 - When they heard this they were silenced. And they glorified God, saying, "Then to the Gentiles also God has granted repentance unto life. "

Acts 13:46 - And Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly, saying, "It was necessary that the word of God should be spoken first to you. Since you thrust it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles.

Acts 13:48 - And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and glorified the word of God; and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.

Acts 14:2 - But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles and poisoned their minds against the brethren.

Acts 14:27 - And when they arrived, they gathered the church together and declared all that God had done with them, and how he had opened a door of faith to the Gentiles.

Acts 28:28 - Let it be known to you then that this salvation of God has been sent to the Gentiles; they will listen. "

As you can see,, the gentiles, were very glad to have the word of God.

Now,, The Jews,, were more stubborn, and stuck in the law, and thier own man-made laws.

Acts 18:5b Paul was occupied with preaching, testifying to the Jews that the Christ was Jesus. 6 And when they opposed and reviled him, he shook out his garments and said to them, "Your blood be upon your heads! I am innocent. From now on I will go to the Gentiles. "

Romans 3:29 - Or is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also

Romans 1:16 - For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Romans 2:9 - Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;

Romans 2:10 - But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:

As you can see. The word of the Lord was presented first to the Jew,, but they would have nothing to do with him, and ultimately, they are the ones who sent him to the cross. The saw him as a false prophet, liar, and a general trouble maker.

John 5:43 - I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.

So, in turn, they do not believe he came, and are still waiting for the messiah. That is why they do not celebrate any of the traditions related with Christianity and the Bible.

I need to run for now guys,, I'll be back on later. Gene, you have really good questions. The 13yr old,, well, I don't think there is anything against it,, except, for the fact that the Bible states that you must obey the laws of the government, unless they go against the rules, and commandments set forth in the bible.

rhickman,, I'll have to get back to you,, but you can see John 5:43 for a clue. There will be many false prophets, and Eventually, the Jews will accept a leader that will rise from the East, and will show all the traits of being the messiah, and they will push him to power, and claim him as Christ, the messiah. He is known as the Anti-Christ.

talk to ya later,

Merrick Cummings Jr

I think Noah used Unicorn horns to nail the big tub together. When he got done, he realized that every Unicorn horn was used for nails and there weren't any Unicorns left.

For the one's that look at death as being worm food you are correct as for as the flesh is concerned, unless you are creamated. Thus the sprit will live on. But answer me a question why where you born or the fact anyone was born just to be worm food. Why do you have feeling about someone you care about, why are you sadden by a death of a loved one. What would be the purpose of living your life obeying laws, protecting your loved ones. Your not instantly born with the knowledge you have now you have to learn. I feel our purpose on earth is a learning process to carry on to the next life. The reason you have these feeling is LOVE. This is the greatest gift God ever give mankind. GOD IS LOVE. There is a war being fought as we speak a sprital war between God and Satan. God is a jealous God he gave you that sprit that's in your body and he would like to get it back, but this is your choice to give it to him or not. Think about this why was I born, because God has a purpose for you. This is your choice.

Eternity

... . if you unbelievers are right, we'll all be "worm food", and we've all lost nothing. If we as believers are right though, well, eternity is a loooong time to be without God, to be in hell.

Good one!!!

God is good all the time, especially when he blesses me with a 300+ HP Cummins Oo.

What about the numb nuts that believe their going to get 20 virgins for crashing planes? Do they have a different God that gives them those things? Does God hand out different things to different religions kinda like the federal government gives different things to different races? Do you think the Indians all went to the fire pit because they believed in so many different gods and didn't go to church? In a jungle somewhere right now some un-civilized person is praying to a 747 flying over, does that make him a bad person? Does that make him wrong? Does it make you right? These questions are not directed to anyone, just food for thought to think about before you become food for worms!

I can guarantee you that the technology wasn't furnished by Microsoft:-laf

Maybe Creation is more of an issue of faith than of science. I find it interesting that there is more historical SCIENTIFIC proof of the text of the Hebrew Bible and its accuracy than that of the any other ancient text, including the Odyssey and the Illiad, yet no one seems to question Homer, Plato, Aristotle, or Socrates.

Science and logic seems continually to justify my faith, even as it desperately searches for ANY explanation that will allow us to discount the work of an Almighty God.

Whether it is an issue of science of faith, I have made my choice. It's just convenient that science backs up my faith.

Why do I choose faith over science?

Habakkuk 2:4--"Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith. "

Romans 1:17--"For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. "

Galations 3:11--"But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. "

Hebrews 10:38-"Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. "

The Easter information is not correct. It actually comes from the feast of ISHTAR.

For those who really want to know the origin of Easter:

Easter is a day that is honered by nearly all of contemporary Christianity and is used to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The holiday often involves a church service at sunrise, a feast which includes an "Easter Ham", decorated eggs and stories about rabbits.

Those who love truth learn to ask questions, and many questions must be asked regarding the holiday of Easter.

Is it truly the day when Jesus arose from the dead? Where did all of the strange customs come from, which have nothing to do with the resurrection of our Saviour?

The purpose of this tract is to help answer those questions, and to help those who seek truth to draw their own conclusions.

The first thing we must understand is that professing Christians were not the only ones who celebrated a festival called "Easter. "

"Ishtar", which is pronounced "Easter" was a day that commemorated the resurrection of one of their gods that they called "Tammuz", who was believed to be the only begotten son of the moon-goddess and the sun-god.

In those ancient times, there was a man named Nimrod, who was the grandson of one of Noah's son named Ham.

Ham had a son named Cush who married a woman named Semiramis. Cush and Semiramis then had a son named him "Nimrod. "

After the death of his father, Nimrod married his own mother and became a powerful King.

The Bible tells of of this man, Nimrod, in Genesis 10:8-10 as follows: "And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth. He was a mighty hunter before the Lord: wherefore it is said, even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the Lord. And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar. "

Nimrod became a god-man to the people and Semiramis, his wife and mother, became the powerful Queen of ancient Babylon.

Nimrod was eventually killed by an enemy, and his body was cut in pieces and sent to various parts of his kingdom.

Semiramis had all of the parts gathered, except for one part that could not be found.

That missing part was his reproductive organ. Semiramis claimed that Nimrod could not come back to life without it and told the people of Babylon that Nimrod had ascended to the sun and was now to be called "Baal", the sun god.

Queen Semiramis also proclaimed that Baal would be present on earth in the form of a flame, whether candle or lamp, when used in worship.

Semiramis was creating a mystery religion, and with the help of Satan, she set herself up as a goddess.

Semiramis claimed that she was immaculately conceived.

She taught that the moon was a goddess that went through a 28 day cycle and ovulated when full.

She further claimed that she came down from the moon in a giant moon egg that fell into the Euphrates River.

This was to have happened at the time of the first full moon after the spring equinox.

Semiramis became known as "Ishtar" which is pronounced "Easter", and her moon egg became known as "Ishtar's" egg. "

Ishtar soon became pregnant and claimed that it was the rays of the sun-god Baal that caused her to conceive.

The son that she brought forth was named Tammuz.

Tammuz was noted to be especially fond of rabbits, and they became sacred in the ancient religion, because Tammuz was believed to be the son of the sun-god, Baal. Tammuz, like his supposed father, became a hunter.

The day came when Tammuz was killed by a wild pig.

Queen Ishtar told the people that Tammuz was now ascended to his father, Baal, and that the two of them would be with the worshippers in the sacred candle or lamp flame as Father, Son and Spirit.

Ishtar, who was now worshipped as the "Mother of God and Queen of Heaven", continued to build her mystery religion.

The queen told the worshippers that when Tammuz was killed by the wild pig, some of his blood fell on the stump of an evergreen tree, and the stump grew into a full new tree overnight. This made the evergreen tree sacred by the blood of Tammuz.

She also proclaimed a forty day period of time of sorrow each year prior to the anniversary of the death of Tammuz.

During this time, no meat was to be eaten.

Worshippers were to meditate upon the sacred mysteries of Baal and Tammuz, and to make the sign of the "T" in front of their hearts as they worshipped.

They also ate sacred cakes with the marking of a "T" or cross on the top.

Every year, on the first Sunday after the first full moon after the spring equinox, a celebration was made.

It was Ishtar's Sunday and was celebrated with rabbits and eggs.

Ishtar also proclaimed that because Tammuz was killed by a pig, that a pig must be eaten on that Sunday.

By now, the readers of this tract should have made the connection that paganism has infiltrated the contemporary "Christian" churches, and further study indicates that this paganism came in by way of the Roman Catholic System.

The truth is that Easter has nothing whatsoever to do with the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We also know that Easter can be as much as three weeks away from the Passover, because the pagan holiday is always set as the first Sunday after the first full moon after the spring equinox.

Some have wondered why the word "Easter" is in the the King James Bible.

It is because Acts, chapter 12, tells us that it was the evil King Herod, who was planning to celebrate Easter, and not the Christians.

The true Passover and pagan Easter sometimes coincide, but in some years, they are a great distance apart.

So much more could be said, and we have much more information for you, if you are a seeker of the truth.

We know that the Bible tells us in John 4:24, "God is a spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. "

The truth is that the forty days of Lent, eggs, rabbits, hot cross buns and the Easter ham have everything to do with the ancient pagan religion of Mystery Babylon. These are all antichrist activities!

Satan is a master deceiver, and has filled the lives of well-meaning, professing Christians with idolatry.

These things bring the wrath of God upon children of disobedience, who try to make pagan customs of Baal worship Christian.

You must answer for your activities and for what you teach your children.

These customs of Easter honor Baal, who is also Satan, and is still worshipped as the "Rising Sun" and his house is the "House of the Rising Sun. "

How many churches have "sunrise services" on Ishtar's day and face the rising sun in the East?

How many will use colored eggs and rabbit stories, as they did in ancient Babylon.

Thanks to pastor David J. Meyer for the information. .

<<Eostre: Goddess of Spring

The Easter rituals have distinct histories - one explanation for Easter is the story of Christ.

Another has its origin in celebrations which took place around the vernal equinox - that is when (in the Northern hemisphere) days began to get longer; the beginning of Spring. These celebrations were based around Eostre, the Anglo-Saxon Goddess of Spring and fertility, or Eostare, the Norse pagan festival of Spring.

Rites of Spring and celebrations to do with rebirth and renewal were common all through the Northern hemisphere and the Christian story of Christ's death and resurrection fitted in with this. >> from http://www.cultureandrecreation.gov.au/articles/easter/

There are plenty of other sites that include this explanation for the word Easter, and one that includes this:

Origins of the Word "Easter" and the Goddess it Represents. "Easter" is derived from "Eostre," the pagan Anglo-Saxon goddess, and/or "Eostare," the Norse pagan festival of spring. When God gave the law to the Israelites in the Old Testament, he clearly instructed them not to even utter the name of other gods (Exodus 23:13). Aphrodite, Asherah, Ashtoreth, Astarte, Diana, Eostre, Ianna, Ishtar, Isis, Ostara, Semiramis, Venus . . . call her what you will, but she is one and the same--a false goddess, an idol, worshiped by pagans. And God declares that she is detestable. Asherah is mentioned in the Old Testament quite frequently (Exodus 34:13; Deuteronomy 7:5; Deuteronomy 12:2-4; Deuteronomy 16:21; Judges 6:25-30; 1 Kings 14:15-23; 1 Kings 15:13; 1 Kings 16:33; 1 Kings 18:19; 2 Kings 13:6; 2 Kings 17:7-16; 2 Kings 18:4; 2 Kings 21:3-7; 2 Kings 23:4-15; 2 Chronicles 14:3; 2 Chronicles 15:16; 2 Chronicles 17:6; 2 Chronicles 19:3; 2 Chronicles 24:18; 2 Chronicles 31:1; 2 Chronicles 34:3-7; Isaiah 17:8; Isaiah 27:9; Jeremiah 17:2; Micah 5:14). Ashtoreth (the Babylonian goddess of the woods and nature) is also mentioned by name in the Bible (Judges 2:11-13; 1 Samuel 7:3; 1 Kings 11:5, 33). In every instance, she is an idol which greatly angers God. Inanna, the Sumerian patron of the temple prostitutes (also considered the merciful mother who intercedes with the gods on behalf of her worshipers), is represented with a star inscribed in a circle. There are several scriptures which clearly show that worship of any of the celestial elements (sun, moon or stars) is forbidden by God (Deuteronomy 17:2-5; 2 Kings 21:3-7; 2 Kings 23:4-15; Ezekiel 8:15-16). Ishtar [pronounced "Aes-tar"] (the Babylonian/Chaldean goddess of love and war) and Semiramis (an Assyrian goddess) were both known as the "Queen of Heaven. " And the "Queen of Heaven" is specifically mentioned in the Bible (Jeremiah 7:18; Jeremiah 44:19, 25).

So, Eostre is no more wrong than Ishtar.
