Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) What Is This For

So I had to replace my wiring harness that runs on the fire wall and down to the transmission. Once I got it out i found this fuse holder and some sort of resistor under the shrink tubing hooked up inline. No fuse was in the holder and need to know what this

would be for and is it needed? This is a fully built Goerend transmission and vlave body.

I had to cut it off because is kept getting snagged as I fished out the wiring harness.

I cannot remember the proper name for it but it is a resistor that is needed to keep your truck from throwing a code, I THINK from the increased pressure. The fuse holder is there so that you can put a fuse in it and bypass the resistor for diagnostics without having to remove it.

I would highly suggest putting it back.

Bad idea to mount it under the truck in that likely wet enviroment.The same ckt can be found near the pcm
