My cummins is a 99. My pusher pump died @55k miles (replaced the filter and it wont prime) and I will be replacing it with a Holley black pump. It will be mounted somewhere along the frame with a cover to protect it from rocks/cold etc. I need to know the size of fuel line and AN fittings needed to replace the banjo on the main pump, inlet/outlet of the holley pump as well as the filter inlet/outlet. Got the holley new for $50 from a friend that never used. Broke my arm so 4 weeks off work... perfect timing. Any recommendations are welcome. Thanks!

The hard line outa the tank is 3/8" (-6 braided will slip over hard line) the fittings on your pump "should be 3/8" npt, might be 1/2" depending on pump.

if it's 3/8" you'll want -6 to 3/8" mpt the fittings , if the pumps 1/2" you just need -6 to 1/2" mpt (male pipe thread) for the holley pump , on the VP and the filter are -6 to 12mmx1. 50 webber fittings.

the earls pn# is 991944 i think i got um from summit. you might as well put a -6 to -6 fitting w/ an 1/8" port for a fuel pressure gauge to while your at it, get a relay and run the pump off of a relay w/ the trigger wire hooked in to the old fact. lift pump harness trigger wire. i think thats most of it, there will be others who will chime in to help to i'm sure.

was gonna run the pump on a toggle switch kinda like a "fuel shutoff/anti theft type device". (I got a 16 year old) Good or Bad idea?

Are you gonna elimante the factory LP all together? if so IMO you should have it hooked to the LP harness, VP's are very sensative to no fuel, if ya even forget, even for a few minites to turn it on, let alone running it outa fuel it'll burn the pump up quickly, plus on start up the fact pump cycles for a sec, and then doesnt come back on till the truck is started, a lotta guys who bypass the harness seem to have hard starting due to "flooding" the VP.

this is just my opinion, hopefully others will confirm or refute my thoughts. (the toggle IS a good idea) dont get me wrong, i'd just hate to see ya fry a VP. hope i helped at least a little.

IF you are ever going to go to > about 450 hp I think generally AN-8. I put in AN-6 and have not had a problem with < 400 hp.

But IF ..... now is the time to plan for the future.

Good point Bob, just when you go to -8 plan on pulling the tank and installing a 1/2" pick up. it's kinda a waste to have -8 lines and only a 3/8" (-6) pick up.

Good point too TMTT, My bad didnt thnk about that. :(

isn't the thread in the vp44 12mm if so that is about 1/2" so the I. D. of any an fitting adapter will be a fair amount smaller so I don't see how going to 1/2" gains anything if you can't get the vp fitting bigger???
