Well, there are V-8 Macks and Cats out there in OTR apps, right?

No everybody these days are running I-6 in tractor trailers until you get into large equipment, ships, industrial equipment ,etc.

It has been a long time since the CAT 3208 and Mack 500 V-8 have been factory installed. (late 80s, early 90s)

Some V-8 diesels are used in self-propelled forage harvesters (agriculture), smallest being around 500hp.

The next competition I think should involve guys like Llyod Mills, Reb Brown, Clint Cannon, Brady Williams, RCCox, previous challenge winners, etc.

That would be a good competition :-laf :-laf

Something sure to break

Hmmm...

Diesel Power Challenge eh...

Nice group of guys you chose there..... BUT...

What about this truck below since it has now returned to the ORIGINAL owners hands and is now having a new bullet prepared for it?. It was at one time one of the best running Cummins Trucks on the Eastern Coast.....

Yep. .

You guessed it...

The "Slick Black Bottle Rocket" has has been returned to the original Owner... Jetpilot. A new powerplant, the competition is in early Fall giving him time to test and tune. I would say he would make a nice showing also and may make Tomac nervous even... ... ... ... ... Andy

Tomac vs Jetpilot? Tomac, easy win.

Sad but true, Jetracers, previous lack of back to back runs in any competition, leaves a lot be desired for a betting man. ;) Besides, We know he is askeered to hook to a sled!!! :-laf (dont worry, I'll help you. )

Guys, this event is what Tomac has been doing since he bought the truck. While we were all excelling at one thing pull, race, dyno, Tomac was competing and winning events in all three.

Hs truck is average power wise, but the exprience he has is worth more than power. You had better go put at least 50 hooks and 100 passes at the strip, before you even consider going up against Tomac.

I've been to alot of truck pulls & have seen stock duramaxis get full pulls. I think it is mostly the Allison that gets it done. I am not saying that Tomac isn't responsible with his experience, but the Allison just makes it that much easier for a experienced puller. Congrats Tomac for the impressive Competition!

Where is Gene and what have you done to him????? :-laf

I get some more mods done and truck tuned in, I send in my entry. I give'em a run, I just have to row like heck in the 1/4 so I can stay in the middle of the pack, have to be on the top everywhere else. Nah the heck with winning, I just want the publicity :-laf :-laf

I do have a winning record vs Tomac.

Better?

East Coast... . Representin'. This is like sounding familiar, but I think the story had Tupac not Tomac. No Biggie... Battle on boys. :-laf Please... . No popping "recaps". :-laf ;)

Hmmm...

Careful now Staple Puller...

Your allowing your DHRA bias to show through here with comments like that.

You do of course know that what they say about Tomac being the winner and top of the hill... . He will be the first guy to get bounced from the top. Heck he may not even fear the "Jet Racer" like you did Gene  :-laf ,but,I can assure you that Doug is NOT the guy he has to worry about. Yes,he does has experience on Jetty, but, the guys he has to worry about have more hooks than Tomac himself and do have more trips down the dragstrip too,so the experience thing is out the window. It will come down to power, application of it and breakage...

Of course that is IF Diesel Power can remove their hands from GM's pockets long enough to this year ALLOW the strong running Dodges and Fords to compete.

Time will tell I guess... ... ... Andy

The trucks out there that might actually have a chance against Tomac are not even being talked about on this thread. I guess when some of you get a clue then we can talk. By the way I'll give you a hint... . They are from Northern Indiana and have an Auto transmission. The problem with the big dodges that actually have a shot is that they are 12 valve trucks and cant turn boxes down (like a common rail) for some parts of the competition to compete.

Enough of the internet hero stuff already!!  :-laf

The other thing is they are looking for daily drivers that the average guy could have not hood stacked smoke pigs. It would be cool if they did a all out war test. Bring the baddest thing you got and see how it does.
