where is the TPS on the 04.5 auto?

I am getting the APPS code, and dead pedal a couple of times. Where is the APPS/TPS? Not on the pedal in the floor, not under the plastic cover on the side of the engine (at least not in plain sight) . I just want to see it before I buy a new one, so I am sure I am getting the right one. I go to the timbo site, his fits "some 04" but shows pictures of his. 2004. 5 2500 4wd auto.

If you have the large black plastic cover in front of the intake horn, then the Timbo sensor will work. Click on "install instructions" on his page to explain how to replace it. Its under the plastic cover behind the bellcrank assy.

It is in there. Pull the cover and look for the wiring connection and thats it.

Throttle cable top right, Cruise control top top left, and cable to Trans on bottom...

Thats it, the white plastic piece with the 6 mounting bolts. Wiring harness plugs into the bottom. The bell crank turns the APPS.

I have not gotten down to any plastic yet, but is sounds like it is under the large black steel mount plate the cables run though...

No, look at the picture above. #5 is the APPS assembly. Its a steel plate that mounts to the braket that holds the cables with 4 bolts. The other 2 mount the braket to the engine. The actual electric pieces is behind the adjustment screws and lever.
