If you are going to be concerned about an AL transmission pan, what about your engine oil pan ground clearance or if you put on a Fass external fuel filters that hang below the frame?
I just saying?

As mentioned my 05 got a dented pan just from forest service road driving with a level kit giving more oil pan clearance. So it’s a real possibility. Cast is more brittle than stamped.

I also tucked my filter up high and above a skid plate, also the with foam shielding for that reason too.

I don’t rock crawl a 1 ton, but it does get a lot of forest service road use.

Depending on your definition and severity of "rock crawling", I use my truck in some nasty situations and I agree about the pan. I'll take a dented steel pan over a cracked aluminum pan when I'm in the middle of nowhere (which is common).

When doing your pan change and fluid/filter change if you like the idea of getting rid of all the old fluid it’s easy on a 68rfe to do a complete fluid exchange.

I sure hope this doesn’t offend anyone. :D

How many miles are currently on your AS69RC?

Additionally.....how many transmission services have you performed on said AS69RC that have been complete fluid exchanges? :p

73 k

what does that have to do with anything?

to humor you I have done three removing the pan and one just draining on three different trucks.

no fluid exchange on the AISIN but still looking into it. When I figure out how to do it I will give info to those who pm me.
Don’t want to upset anyone with knowledge.

If the AISIN transmission is similarly designed to the VW DSG transmissions, I would not service it. There is no way to check or fill the transmission on my wife's car easily. The car is serviced by the dealership for servicing of the DSG transmission every 4 years. The transmission oil is pumped into the pan, I believe you need a high-speed pump, that VW has designed that will connect to the fill port on the pan. The AISIN maybe similar where the oil is pump into the pan.

It’s nothing like that. Drain in the pan, pull the pan to do a filter change, and fill with the dipstick tube in the engine bay.

In the perfect world I would add remove pipe plug from torque converter and get the rest of the old fluid out. I would love to find someone that could properly add a drain plug to my AISIN.

First thing I did to my Turbo400 on my 86 C20 at 30k. Sold the truck last Summer with between 4 and 500k still shifted like the day I bought it.
