9K Lbs...trailer brakes?

Bombing the Coleman Mach HVAC thermostat in the 5er

I'm thinking of putting in a #11 TST plate for towing a 6k TT, but I read somewhere that plate causes hi EGTs and might be better with a #8?

Comments?

With your Auto trans motor the #8 will give you 230 HP/605 T and #6 is 250HP/650T. With the # * plate you can get away w/o gauge although I highly recomend them anyway!!! With the #6 you need gauges and probibly A/T converter and valve body. .

Check my sig, I just finished 4000 miles with a 6000lb trailerwith alttitudes up tp 8000ft. Egt was not a problem if you watch the gauge on a long uphill pull and back off just slightly if they go too high, only had to do that 2 times and was still pulling strong just not accelerating besides 70 mph on a 6% grade I really didnt need to go any faster any way, just wanted to. The truck didnt hardly feel the trailer and I could use cruise control at 65mph on any grade and never lose any speed.

4.8

The #4, stamped 4. 8, is definately NOT a WOT towing plate in a 215 pump. Slid 3/4 of the way forward, it has a strong low end. For towing, you just regulate EGT with your right foot. :)

I try to stay around 20psi while towing. No reason to stress things, unless you've got another RV on your radar screen that needs passing on the next hill. :D I sure wish we had a cruise control that monitors boost & speed. I'd set it @ 20 or 25psi max & whatever speed.
