Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) White smoke at startup

I'm getting white smoke at startup, can anyone tell me if this is an injector problem or something else ?? Once started the white smoke disappears.

Has anyone used rebuilt injectors with any success ?? I can't really justify what they want for a set of Bosch injectors.

I'm also getting diesel fuel in the sump over a period of time - is this an injector problem or another problem ??

Looking for some answers - don't really know where to start !!

Hey Bob, what is the year and mileage and any modifications. There are can be a slew of reasons for white smoke, air in your fuel sounds most likely if it goes away. This could be from any holes or cracks in your supply line or your return line. Your overflow valve. Any noticeable loss in power?
Are you thinking that the injector is pouring too much diesel into the cylinder. How is your oil pressure?

I had had a white smoke issue at startup also. (once I was finally able to get it started after cranking) Turned out mine was an air leak in the fuel supply line on the tube on top of the fuel module in the tank. Module replaced & the hard start/white smoke issue was gone. So I would also agree about the fuel line leak. Press up your tank with air then any leak in the line will make itself known. If your getting fuel in your oil I doubt you have any leaks. Most likely an injector issue. Be careful running like that, too much contamination will wipe out your bottom end. You could always pull your injectors and have them pop tested to erase any doubts you may have, it will tell you which ones are ok and which one(s) aren't.
