I just purchased a set of trim sticks but am reluctant to jump in and try to remove the bezel out of fear it will crack. I want to replace the lamps that illuminate the HVAC controls for sure, and probably upgrade my radio in the future. Specifically, which trim stick shape is best adapted for removing the bezel and where should pressure be applied, i.e. the top, sides, etc? The trim sticks that came in the set are variations of your standard short pry bar, a windshield ice scraper and a tongue depressor with an angled end. The width of the 5 sticks that came in the set vary from about 1/2" - 2".

Not too sure how much of a difference there is in dashes from '03 to '06, but I took my dash apart quite a few times on my '06 and never needed trim sticks. Honestly, I can't think of where they would be needed.

Iirc 03-05 were the same 06 had a slight change. The 03-05 style pops out very easy I have never seem one crack......yet

IIRC there is a screw by the "hook" ( to the right of the stick where you would hang a bag ) on the panel. It's easy to get out. David

do some searches on diymobileaudio.com I figured out how to dismantle the entire inside of my truck from searching them. I literally had nothing but the dash and steering
wheel inside my truck. No headliner down to no carpet and everything in between. They will tell you how to dismantle the dash as well. Have fun!

On the 03's it helps to open the glove box and drop the knee bolster down before pulling the panel off. It does have one screw under the garbage bag hook.

Thanks for the responses. I got the trim sticks after reading it in the Dodge Repair Manual for the 03's. Didn't know about the screw next to the hook, though. For what it's worth, I checked with the dealer on the HVAC lamps and got a pretty wide range of prices, from just over $3 each to just over $5 each. The lower price was supposedly the "wholesale" price that they offered to businesses. And here I thought the mafia had been dismantled...
