Who makes the 4th gen OEM nerf bars?

I'm having a very difficult time finding a set of good nerf bars for my 2018 crew cab long bed dually. It's silver in color and has some chrome on it. I really like the factory chrome nerf bars I had on my 2017 2500, but the dealers can't seem to get them or want about double what they should be. I looked after market and it seems crew cab long bed dually isn't a big market for old school chrome nerf bars.

I'd really like to get a set of stainless steel quality nerf bars with good brackets. Even better if the steps allowed access to the front of the bed.

Anyone know who makes the OEM ones?

Any good alternatives?

If I had to do it over, I would have went with the Amp automatic steps. I do have the Amp fold down to get into the bed from the rear, they also sell the same for the side of the bed . After getting into my sons 3500 Ram with the Amps I kick myself for going OEM .

AMP bed step is USELESS to get to 5er hitch or even into a toolbox since it mounters at the front of the bed.

Have no side step, but do like the bed step. As far as OEM wheel to wheel or not , I just dislike them . Getting in is okay as far as the placement of the step portion , but getting out not so much. If they had the rubber portion the full length like some, that would be better ,but the Amp automatic IMO are far better, the width , the height, etc . Plus that nice clean look without those steps sticking out is something I would prefer. Live and learn I guess as far as those steps are for me .

I haven’t. I usually don’t have great luck with CL. It’s a lot more hassle than it’s worth it seems.

I don’t want the AMP retractable steps. While they are nice, I don’t want the expense not the extra complications they bring. Plus I really like the old school simple chrome look the OEM ones have. They really look nice on the truck.

I agree , they are not cheap, but something I will go with next time around . I have had Luverne side steps , which were Stainless, but I guess depends on where you live , chrome does not hold up very well here in Utah.

Can’t say that’s an issue I’ve noticed. The step tread extends well beyond where my feet go getting in or out.

That would make mine more useable then they are. I have noticed some are different. Mine are OEM with Ram on them. Just not a functional step as far as I am concerned. You can see on mine when they are scratched from me missing the rubber ,and stepping on the chrome.

Haha. I’m not with the truck and had to hunt for a photo. The reason it’s not an issue is that it’s one piece for the cab with a small gap for the bed.

Has anyone check to see if there 2019 2500/3500 Limited have the electronic vibration tamers (OEM), if you do aftermarket steps may be troublesome, there on My 2019 limited 1500.

I have not checked but have a 2019 3500 Big Horn with AMP steps and they work well without problems.

Two things, the rubber step extends almost the entire length, thats the difference, mine just has two areas for the front door ,and the rear .The second thing the truck sitting there with no steps is by far in my eyes a better look , clean, thats where the Amps really shine , out of sight .

Good looking trucks, DS. It seems everyone is bent on convincing you that AMP's are the way to go!

Looks like your old truck has the same style as my '18. I'll look around the bottom side of mine and see if there are any stickers/numbers/etc that might indicate who made them for Mopar.

I begrudgingly ordered a set of Westins. They are fully enclosed tubes with welded end caps. The brackets are a tad wimpy looking and and have a cover over them to simulate the OEM bracket look. I haven’t found any bad reviews, but I read them with a grain of salt anyway.

I’ll show some pics once they show up.
