Never left Dodge. I use my chevy for work and most of my running around, and the Dodge for long trips or pulling the camper.

Wyoming is dry, or at least it is here:confused:.

Courier dog, How do you keep your bumper polished? I have the same on my dodge and an ali arc on my chevy, and I can't keep either of them looking that good.

25,000 miles mostly towing. I love this truck! threw a code once for the bypass cooler but had the reflash done and no troubles.

Well I drive a 2007 6. 7 for a living.

I just returned from a 4765 Mile trip and I averaged 20. 55 MPG US

I currently have 95,194 miles on the Odometer

Have I have any problems, just the normal reflashes and replacement of the entire EGR and DPF system under warranty.

Would I do again, in a heartbeat, no question.

Great truck, Good service, Great Ride

Awesome! Good to hear some positive feedback from a "high mileage" 6. 7.

At what mileage was the DPF replaced under warranty? I read somewhere that it's a "wear item" that needs to be replaced at 80k mile intervals IIRC.

I love my 08. I can put in 12-14 hours of driving in a day with it and not feel like I just fought the truck all day getting it through those mountain roads. It handles like a dream and has so much power stock that it has impressed me time after time. Its just a very fun truck to drive. Around town I get about 15% lower fuel economy than my old truck, which I expected and knew this going into the purchase. On the highway its about 20% difference, but of course the old 12er would get 26MPG on the highway, hardly a fair comparison. Now that the engine is broke in I am getting better mileage too, especially around town. However, I look at the power differences, and then suddenly the fuel economy differences don't seem to be as much of an issue anymore;)

Courier dog, nice truck bumper.

It has plenty of power in stock form. Engine brake is way cool, ( it is the VVT - type)_. .

Technically, that's incorrect. VVT, in this case, stands for "variable vane turbo" which the Cummins design is not, as the vanes are fixed on the turbine shaft. It IS however, a variable geometry type, using a sliding nozzle to vary the volume of the exhaust chamber, thus controlling the speed of the compressor side by limiting the exhaust flow. That also works as an exhaust brake, and helps to warm up the truck, essentially by providing a load.

Here's a good demo. www.cummins.com/turbos - VGT
