The 99 in my sig developed a problem about 2 weeks ago. I bought the truck and drove it to work for a week with no problems. I got in it to run an errand a week or 2 down the road after it had sat all week and it acted like it was hitting a rpm limiting wall, it wouldnt rev past 1200rpm or so in gear but would rev all the way up in Neutral. It would ide fine but when you started giving it rpm it would miss some and puff out black smoke, I bought a fuel filter and installed it today ( the old one was very dirty) and it didnt make any difference. What should my next step be, Im out of options?

It doesnt start its missing untill about 2000rpm but it doesnt really feel like it wants to rev much past that.

I do not have one but that will give me a good excuse to place another Genos order:-laf

Fuel pressure gauge is an absolute must on any VP44 powered truck. My guess is your lift pump took a dump, and you are now killing the more expensive injection pump... #@$%!

I know for sure it has a reman injection pump so this must have happened to the previous owner as well. The good news is that im not driving it, it just sits in the garage now so I should not have killed the injection pump yet I dont think. Thank God I have a 12 valve to get me to work:D
