Will most EGT probes work on a smarty touch?

Recently purchased my new 07 with the 5.9 and have already started improving where Dodge left off lol. So I removed the tripple gauge pod off my 2nd gen which had the Autometer EGT and probe and want to put it on the 07. I am also looking at a Smarty touch for this truck instead of the Edge drag comp box I had on my 2nd gen (which had issues) but noticed the EGT probe for the touch is an additional $200 bucks?? . I have not been able to get any Smarty support on this question, do I have to buy the $200 probe from smarty or will my Autometer probe work?

@WBraico , As long as it's a "K" type thremo-couple, the main difference is the electrical connection. Did quick Google, "EGT probes all the same", and got lot's of info for manufactures and forums that state "K" couples are used in the automotive application and difference is material and connections. Thanks Topzide, I have a couple calls in to Smarty Support and hoping they will call me back in the next couple days to confirm if there connection will allow me to use what I already have.
