Diesel Questions??

Long ago I was a medic in the national gaurd in Kansas they had what we called a gamma goat. Thing would float and the trailer had drive wheels as well. Powered by diesel, not sure of the motor though. The thing was awesome. It would go anywhere. Have never seen one since.

Long ago the Forest Service used tank trailers behind their brush trucks that had a drive axle. Not as high tech though, set up sort of like a tractor pto with a driveshaft going all the way back to the trailer. Tractor pull trailers with a drive axle are quite common in the hilly vineyards of Europe.

I saw that rig a couple of years ago when I was searching through expedition stuff. It has everything you could want except a diesel engine. They went with an LT1 (EDIT: it's an LS-1, I just checked the website). I don't know why in the world you would put a gas engine in something that goes places where the only fuel you could probably find is diesel.

BTW, the Gamma Goat had a Detroit 3-53.
