I am anew member to the TDR, and I hope someone can help me.

I have a Banks Power Pack on my truck that was purchased over a year ago. The truck runs great and I love the extra power.

HOWEVER..... After reading the forums, I have realized that there is probably more power out there available to me, but I wonder if I can use these systems (ex: Edge box, injectors etc... ) with the banks system? Will I need to unhook the banks Ottomind, or can the boxes be "piggybacked"? Or, is this all for not because the Ottomind chip from Banks is similar in performance to the Edge boxes?

I have done several searches, but did not find a complete answer. . Thanks in advance for your time.

Ryan, I assume you have the 24V engine.

I started with the Bank's Stinger package and soon realized that I needed to upgrade the transmission.

I think the first thing you should do is get the transmission fixed. This alone will give you much more usable power. ( I recommend DTT - Diesel Transmission Technology) Then scrap the Ottomind for an Edge comp and finish it off with DD 2's or 3's. If you are towing heavy get an exhaust brake when you do the transmission. Do this and you will have more fun than you can imagine. See my signature.

Welcome to TDR

P. S. With just the Bank's Stinger Plus I dynoed 264 RWHP. With the DD2's and Comp I am well over 400 RWHP

Thanks for the quick reply, Tom.

It is a 24v, I need to update that signature thing. . The transmission is on its way, as the truck has 100,000 miles on the original transmission. It just recently started to slip real bad... . Did you take all of the Banks stuff off, or just the ottomind? If I replace the Ottomind with an edge box, can I leave the rest of the Banks stuff on? Oh, Can you tell me where to look for the Ottomind box? Cant find the thing, but I can see where the injector wire is pieced... . Thanks Again,

Ryan

Ryan, I still have the exhaust system. the turbo housing and the gages. The Ottomind is mounted just above the brake peddle. You need to remove the panel below the steering wheel. I think there are four screw in the lower edge and then the panel pulls off. there are several spring loaded positioning clips, don't break them. You will then remove two or three screws and slide the Ottomind to the left and replace the screws. Check the pump wire and if it's OK use it for the Comp box. I had trouble with the pump wire connection and ended up soldering it. You possibly could also use the power wire to the Ottomind as the power source for the Comp box. I might be able to find the Bank's installation instructions if you think you need them. Let me know.
