RV Electrical Question/Problem

Great thread! Have reservations for July 3rd through July 9th at fishing bridge. My wife and I are taking our Motorcycles and plan on long day trips using them. I have a 30 foot Hornet Hideout toy hauler. Should be a fun trip. Don't plan on spending much time at the camp ground and like its central location. Can't wait to leave work behind:-laf

I am on my second 5th wheel and have towed to Yellowstone/Tetons twice and had a GREAT time. The RV campgrounds we good in yellowstone and terrific in the Tetons. Your truck is more than capable of taking the grades in the area, mine was.

With all due respect to your FIL, he is, shall we say, misinformed. Even if you have to buy a weight distributing hitch I feel it would be worth it to tow.

All right I am leaving in two weeks.

They just put us on 40 hours at work this week so if that continues I can leave on Friday the 10th in the morning instead of afternoon.

I have still not got an itinerary, but I kind of like to wing it some times. I am going to print this thread so I have all the recommendations with me.

My preliminary plan now is to drive to Spokane Friday and stop in to Diesel Thunder for a few hours Saturday morning. I will then continue on I-90, but I don't know where I am going to cut off and head south.

My reservations are starting on Sunday so I have Saturday and Sunday to get there from Spokane.

On the way home I am going to head out of South Yellowstone and come back through maybe Teton NP and head West through Idaho.

I am getting excited, I can't wait.

We just got done with a 8 night trip in the new trailer and it is working awesome. We are at 14 nights in it so far.

Looking at the Yellowstone Website it says the showers are "nearby" at Bay Bridge.

How far is that?

I'm not certain, but I do remember from my tenting days that we had to drive to showers from one of the campgrounds - not all the CG's have running water. The place we went to was on the "central" east west road through the park. (I say central, but its not really). I know there are showers at Old Faithful also.

Isn't Bay Bridge one of the "shopping" areas - there's a store there too I think. It should be on the map.

Have a great trip. I'm sure you will enjoy Yellowstone and Grand Tetons. Are you also going to Jackson Hole?

I would like to, it is all time dependent. We are on 40 hour weeks at work so if I work 4 10's the week I leave I can have Friday off, then the whole next week and then I could take Monday of the following week and work Tues-Fri.

Back to your question. I also traveled from Hillsboro to Yellowstone. Take the Honda. :) Make sure you spend the night and day in Cody. Motel is cheeper in the end and driving a car gives you a better chance to sight see along the way.

Too late, the trailer is bought, paid for and loaded. Oo.

If you get time go to Red Lodge Montana out through the north east entrance. The ride to bear tooth pass is very scenic and you will be at 10,947 feet above sea level. There is snow up there and the view is awesome.
