Looking at a new Gooseneck Flatbed

Heads up for W/D ready coaches

Greetings one and all,

The better half and I have decided to buy a new truck  ,

We will use the truck to pull our 5er most of the time and when needed will use to go to work. I have a 92 dully long bed now. see sig.

Would like groups input on what to get or not get, do I need the dully again? We think we want the long bed quad cab Just the wife and I and yes Jake the cat we are both tall and want leg room. So come on everyone help me build this truck.

Thanks in advance

I would stay with the dually for a 5th wheel that big. My wife and I looked at some 06s about a week ago. Kinda bogged down and looks like I may keep what I've got. You might want to locate a good therapist before you start looking. :) They just about want you to buy the most expensive truck made to get the equipment you want and then they can't locate it. Good luck. bg

Big rig?

By todays standards a 32 footer is not a big rig. Your main concern is how much pin weight does it place on your truck when fully loaded. A 3500 QuadCab SRW would probably do it a great job.

IMHO, 32' is borderline DRW. If you can live with 2WD, then a SRW should have enough capacity, but if you need 4WD, then DRW may be necessary to stay below GVWR, if that's important to you. I'm a big fan of rowinig my own gears, but you can add an exhust brake to the auto starting with the 06 models.

We went with the 06 dually for the stability, and the assurance that should we have a rear wheel blowout, we have another tire to keep us out of the ditch. it was the right choice for us, and we added the Mopar Jake, which works great. The mega cab bed is too short to tow your rig without taking a chance on kinking the cab backing in some places. our trailer weighs 17k, and the 3. 73 still gives us plonty of power. if you look hard enough, you'll find a deal on a truck, too. Our dealer sold us our truck for 10 grand under sticker. Good Luck on your choice.
