My mom has a 99 CTD 3500 4x4 QC. After you drive 5 to 10 mile the tack stop working and it has no power. The exhaust manifold has a crack in it she is getting new one but I do not thing that is what is makeing the tack stop working. Thank to the age of computhers

I was told that there is a TSB for the plug on the back of the cluster on 99 models..... they have a bad contact & loss of power cycling on/off. Have you checked for codes? It may be a bad crank position sensor or bad connection to the sensor.
 
It sounds like a CAM sensor to me. If it's the same as my 01 it's under the VP44 and it is a real pain to change#@$%! , I just changed it last Friday.
