I have a friend that has a 98 and a half,3/4 with the auto transmission and has a oil pressure issue i think. When he starts it up after its sits for a period of time the oil pressure takes about 10 to 15 seconds to get up to running pressure. I have both a common rail and a 12v and niether one of them have this problem, so i have no idea. So any help will be appreciated, thanks.

Like actually 10 to 15 as in you timed it with a watch... or it seems like that? Mine takes a few seconds maybe 2 or 3 to read pressure after I start it. Not trying to ask a dumb ? just making sure I understand you.

mine takes maybe 10 seconds to come up. it's worse when the truck is warm but has set for couple of hours or at -10 to -20 degrees and set all night. I put a mechanical gauge on it and it comes up faster so I blame it on a slow sending unit. I got 160,000 on it and still runs ok with no other oil problems so I run it like I stole it and don't worry about it.

Thanks that makes me feel better.
