Does this kit move the wheel flange out more than OE like the Dyn-Trac conversion?
Price is more reasonable but even at 1295. 00 that buys allot of fuel.
I would think the time to do it would be when the front axle joints need replacing, that way you are already in there and are getting new joints in the kit.
IMO, for someone who just drives their truck, and doesn't off-road (basically you only use 4wd if you get in a little tight or in snow), I'd do the standard duty and save some $$.
The DT kit is "HD" with the 35-spline 1. 5" outers... a little overkill considering the stubs are huge compared to the inner axles in the AAM.
If I were to buy a new kit, I'd buy a standard duty kit...

I got the severe duty because i am putting arb lockers in. I figure if i am spending over a grand, what's another $200?

Have you found a source for ARB lockers for the AAM axles? Are these the air lockers? Where'd you find them? --Eric
steved, when you installed the dynatrac kit, did it have the small cylinders with the four holes that are shown in the kit picture on the dynatrac web site? http://www.dynatrac.com/products_freespin_dodge.html The EMS kit doesn't show them in their picture and its been bugging me where they would be used. Are they the stub shaft bearing holders and do they bolt to the back of the spindle or something?I would assume the only thing that would change would be the lockout, the stub, and the spindle bearing (supports the stub in the spindle)...

Well i got it today. They messed up my shipping so they sent it out overnight at a reduced rate. very good customer service. Also we found out the spicer u-joints don't work. Apparently, and i'm not sure, NAPA sells a u-joint, but the oem dodge u-joint is better, and since mine were replaced a couple of weeks ago i will reuse them, hopefully. Now i just need my mechanic to get back from disney world.
why is that?NAPA sells a u-joint, but the oem dodge u-joint is better
