Ceramic coating on the manifold?

On the after market exhaust manifolds, is the coating benificial egt-wise? Anybody run one uncoated, then have it coated and have different results?

beside corrosion the coating is to contain heat which helps keep exhaust velocity high to spool turbo and prevent soak so ,yes.

I would like to know too. How much does this normaly run to ceramic coat the manifold. If the price is not to bad i would be willing to be a guineapig i believe this could be a small piece of the puzzle!

I had my ATS manifold coated many years back for about $125 I think. It looks as good now as it did over 10 years ago. The theories are there but for the price do it for the maintenance free aspect and hope for more efficiency.

The different resalers offer different pricing for adding the coating to the manifold. I'm deciding whether to buy it with it or buy it without and save a few $$. Looks aren't as important as performance to me, but getting some more life out of it before it rusts, isn't a bad thing.

Jet-Hot will do it for $25 a foot. Just had my stacks plumbing done. You can't beat a lifetime warranty.

It has been in the Medford and Bend area quite a few times :-laf You may have seen a smoke signal as I passed by.

The ATS manifolds are coated stock.



I have had bad luck with Jet Hot. I had the header on my Jeep done and it was a waste. Started flaking off after about a year.

I had my exhaust manifold and exhaust side of the turbo coated and I think the difference is very noticeable. It looks good, keeps the heat inside the pipe, where it belongs.

I think it is a good investment

Did both exhaust housing, manifold and the hot pipe for my twins. I'm very happy with the results. Had a local place do mine for me.
